Advantages: Just so convenient and cheap for the pleasure it gives. Disadvantages: The gas bottle doesn't fit inside underneath where it should
...of a BBQ grill that is self cleaning? – I doubt it.
We bought a cover - it was expensive - about 60 quid - they are cheaper now but ours has faded through being outdoors until November- pity about the gas bottle protruding on the outside though.
We are having lovely weather down here in the West Country. My hands are covered in anti-foul paint as I type and my 26ft fishing boat will be in the water next weekend – look out for me – the Exhale. I shall be fishing in Lyme Bay soon – I have just bought two of those little clamps in France that you stick on the BBQ with a fish inside. Very soon I will be out in my boat and coming home to grill fresh mackerel on my OutbackTrooper – what finer way to spend an evening with friends – with a good glass of wine of course - enjoy your summer readers!...

Advantages: Spacious, Ash tray, wheels about, even cooking Disadvantages: Size if you have a small garden, doesn't come with cover or utensils
....
The BBQ wheels about freely by being lifted slightly at one end and manoeuvring it on wheels. I would note it is fairly heavy though so those with bad backs may suffer if a lot of moving is necessary.
Underneath there is an area you can store a bag or two of coal in (and also put your beer on when in use if desired) which is very useful.
Looks:
(I had to leave this until last!) Personally I think the aluminium/wood contrast is very nice and modern. No cast iron black in sight really bar perhaps the grill and coal surround.
Overall verdict:
I cannot fault the Outback Elite Flamer Coal BBQ really, if I must all I can say is it would be appreciated that a cover came included. Also it does not come supplied with any utensils so that is another outlay initially for those who train moths…....

Advantages: Looks nice Disadvantages: Poor quality and doesn't last
...Outback BBQ's look amazing when you buy them but after a couple of years you realise they are made of impressively heavy but extremely cheap materials. Despite using a cover, regular cleaning and storage over winter rust set in and last week whilst having a BBQ the paint work around the cooking area caught fire - and we're talking major flames here - just to make it clear it wasn't fat but the paint which has now all been stripped off?????
My burners have also rusted through and need replacing and the hood is also starting to rust. I thought it was just me but have subsequently spoken with friends who have had similar problems.
If you want something that's nice to look at buy one - if you want one that lasts - don't bother. I'm off to buy a new BBQ and it won't be an Outback....
