tend to be violent crime games. This is essentially a cross between the old Dungeon Keeper games and Nintendo's Pikmin, where you play a Sauron-like dark lord in a fantasy world fill of so many corrupt and unpleasant people you often end up playing the de facto hero. Like Pikmin this is a mix of third person action game and a real-time strategy, the obvious difference being you're now in charge of a horde of goblins instead of cute little flower creatures.Although you directly control your bad self in the game you've only got some simple axe attacks and magic spells. Instead your main interaction with the world is via your goblin minions. You can either target an enemy and tell them to attack or control the biggest group directly with the right stick. One of the main currencies in the game then is lifeforce, with which you can instantly generate a new minion. This can be obtained from some enemies, and also sheep, but also from innocent villagers if you want to be really nasty. Although the game may lack moral complexities the capacity for strategy is more developed, as you eventually gain the ability to set ambushes and cast spells on minions. The game's graphics are generally attractive, even with a jarringly short draw distance, but it's the gameplay that really impresses here with something genuinely out of the ordinary in terms of both strategy and motivation.Harrison Dent
Advantages: new concept, great graphics & sound, the kool goblins Disadvantages: complicated, too much controls confuse the gamer
Overlord may be on of the most innovative games Codemasters have ever produced. The game is seriously evil, and you can choose to be more evil in the game as you are already the evil overlord, the leader of a number of goblins who await your commands. The fairy tales just seems to have taken a twist here, as you are to fight the "evil" halflings, elves and dwarves in their homelands, who were on the side of good in most of the stories and the ones ... ...You had been an overlord for a long time, and ruled the whole land until some heroes overthrew, killed your minions and destroyed your tower and you lost its heart, the source of your power. You had been sleeping ever since then, and now as you have woken up, you have to claim everything which belonged to you once. You won't be alone out there, as your minions will accompany you, and there is a goblin character Gnarl, who will give you some advice ...

Advantages: great game mechanics animation and graphics Disadvantages: too short only 35 hours of gamplay
ok, where to start.
overlord has been in the build for a few years now. coming into the spotlight mere months ago the once sceptical critics have found the pickmin style game to be a whole lot more. the game is set in an unknown time, where there once was an overlord (you) who ruled the land. but a group of seven heroes overthrew you and destroyed your domain. however there power went to there heads and corruption overthrew them, you must now awake ... ...are four main maps in overlord and each one plays on various fairytales and storeys. during the course of the storey you will also discover the additional desert map. although the maps seem small in theory its quite easy to get lost in practice, as along with the main roads there are pathways and rivers to follow, alowwing access to various missions and places. the linear game style is broken up making the game seem free roam which greatly adds to ...

Advantages: Good Fun Disadvantages: Not evil enough
I can honestly say that Overlord has been a new and refreshing experience for a hardened gamer like myself (by hardened i mean someone who spends most of his free time gaming, and the rest thinking about gaming). Sad heh?
Although the idea behind the game (being as bad as you can in a fantasy world) is similar to some previous well known tiltles there are details which i find compelling.
Firstly the story. Simple but effective is the phrase which ... ...old one was beaten by a band of heroes and his tower of evil destroyed. Your task is to gain revenge over those heroes who are now a little evil themselves and restore the glory of your evil tower tower.
Gameplay is fun as you complete your come back with the aid of loyal minions. These minions obey your every command as you explore the attractive landscape completing missions. They are so loyal that they litterally jump into a fire if you send ...
