Advantages: Clear blue was clear to read Disadvantages: it is more expensive
the old witch was on her way and it was to be yet another month with a negative result.
The day before Christmas Eve was the date my period was due to arrive, and 2 days before that I tried one of the internet cheapie pregnancy strip tests that had come with my ovulation tests. It showed nothing, so I just thought it was going to be another bad month for us. That afternoon I tried another cheapie test (I have been addicted to testing since we started trying to conceive!) And I could see a very faint line (I will post you all a picture at the end of the review!) It was so hard to see but there was definitely something there. I do understand that the cheap tests can be susceptible to evaporation lines which are not positives, they are more of a grey colour, but this line had a definite pink tinge. I took a photograph and emailed it to my other ...
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Takes 2-3 minutes for results, have to wee in a container
I found this product in my local chemist. I waited until all the customers had left the shop and then asked for a pregnancy test. I don't know why I did this as I had a wedding ring on and a 19 month old in a pram with me! I had a choice of one of the regular branded pack of two pregnancy tests for £13.99 or this one for a 'special price' of £2.99 for one. Not sure if this is the regular price but it had a big yellow sticker indicating the special price and it's not as if they wanted to clear the shelves as it's in date for over another year.
Anyway, ANSWER calls itself the one step pregnancy test. For £2.99 I knew it wasn't to be a new fandangled digital test although I was surprised to see how basic it really was.

Advantages: Digital Display Disadvantages: You can't buy just the cartridges by themselves
I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all.
I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. Inside the packaging was a questionnaire, a more detailed description on how to use the test and 2 of the testers. The testers are individually wrapped and easy to open.
On opening ...
