Sony SRS D211

Advantages: Price, sound quality, looks, ease of use & set up
Disadvantages: speakers feel alittle too light for my liking but are very good none-the-less

I bought these from PC world to replace an older 2.1 yamaha set. The difference is amazing; the bass is deep and the higher notes are clear & crisp. I have tried it out with music ranging from Jay-Z to Mozart so far and I have been very impressed. £33 very well spent! My only concern is the satillites feel very light and plasticy... They sound good and feel quite well made but I like a heavy speaker but I guess thats neither here nor there. Setting ...
...instructions... The volume control is easy to use. And the subwoofer is a nice and chunky. Buy these if you want a good set of music speakers that can handle films and games (there are way better ones for those obviously...) But these will make any home audiophiles who havent won the lottery very happy indeed. Highly recommended! ...

A good, cheap set of 5.1 surround sound speakers.

Advantages: Cheap, fair sound quality and build, good for gaming and films on PC
Disadvantages: Few flaws such as stand not standing up, problem with sub.

...X 5 + 25W sub, when connected to a computer, they go loud enough to annoy everyone else in the house. All in all, not bad, good for games and film, has a few flaws, Sony could certainly improve it, but it wasn't a bad effort from Sony. ...

Compact Active Speakers

Advantages: Good design & Sound
Disadvantages: None

I had the Sony SRS-Z510 active speakers with my old PC which I had around 3-4 years ago. They were decent active speakers at the time and did the job. The first thing I noticed was that they were quite heavy and the second thing I noticed was that although they looked small from the front, they were actually good 12cm long in height. The audio cable supplied was around 2 meters in length which was standard supplied as speakers were designed to be ...
...Audio cable supplied The Sony SRS-Z510 active speakers looked neat when placed along side the computer. They weren't bulky and fitted nicely either side of the monitor I had at the time. The sound quality these speakers produced was quite good. I didn't ever get any distorted sound or crackling sounds from the speakers even at high volume. Overall the Sony SRS-Z510 active speakers were just what I wanted at that time and got the job done. I think ...

Brilliant sound quality and veryyy nice looking

Advantages: Good to look at/ Good sound quality
Disadvantages: Huge ammounts of bass

I will start with one of my one and only negative of this product. After opening the box and testing them, one of the speakers didn't work so I had to return them and buy a new set. Despite of this, these speakers are EXCELLENT! They are amazing to look at, and look like they cost a lot of money (which they do, around £60) but they are worth every single penny. I asked for these speakers as a present for my birthday and i am very glad i picked then. ...
...to computers and to TVs and one that is meant for mp3 players or phones. You can also connect headphones directly to the speakers. The sound quality is great! You can adjust volume, bass and treble, although i would recommend keeping the bass turned down if you are living with other people, because even with the bass turned down to nothing, there is still a reasonable ammount. The sound is great, and every song is really clear so if you want a really ...

Looks yes, feels no

Advantages: Looks, nothing else
Disadvantages: Mostly, except looks

...and is the trend with Creative the Creative Inspire 500A does not deviate from the expectations. Beside the flash and pomp of its look the price tag is absolutely unjustified. Paying £35 (inc VAT) for this system is totally uncalled for. That is paying too much for jazzy and frivolous looks. The performance of the system is abysmal; it is a good show-piece in your drawing room. I really wonder why Creative, having created a good niche for themselves ...
...the store is stuffed with Creative Inspire 500A. Such trendy looks, but that’s all it has to it. The performance is poor and that is to say the least. SET UP: Good thinking on Creative’s part, no hi fi stuff. It’s simple, just plug in the wires at the right places. You end up with a mess of wires, and there she stands proudly promises you of great music. A solitary volume control knob is situated at the back of the wired remote. There is no ...
