Is it just me or do you feel like a PC Genius in PC World?
OK I know quite a bit about PC's but I end up helping or giving better advice to people buy stuff in PC world than the staff.
They know nothing!
They say "er....um...er..um....I will have to find out!"
Not very helpful on the customer services desk. These people are supposed to be experts in PC know how.
When you get an engineer out from the workshop, you are in for a treat.
In my local branch (colchester) they are some of the most rude and impolite people I have ever met.
I have been in the IT industry for a few years now so I know they are not the most interactive types anyway when it comes to conversation but these people are facing customesr everyday and im sure deter repeat business with their attitude.
AS for their products, they have a good range of all hardware and software in the shop which is huge. What they are though is expensive.
You will have a job to find stuff more expensive elsewhere.
Even their budget Pcs are pricey.
If you want a quick Processor in your new machine, you are gonna pay through the nose for it.
The hard drives I was looking at in PC world recently were at least 10-20% more expensive than in some shops and a lot more expensive than on the web.
So to recap, the staff are useless and the good expensive.
I reccommend trying another shop.

How very true, you reiterate my own sentiments and opinion on this very subject. I agree with you totally.

There is a definite risk in becoming a multiple chain in specialist goods - they never want to pay more than the going rate for shop assistants.

I've heard loads of bad reports about PC World. There computers are a rip off. Happy Birthday
