Blackberry Pearl? More of a diamond...
Review of Blackberry Pearl 8110 by mallamaloo

Advantages: Does most things it should simply and well whilst still being phone sized
Disadvantages: Viewing some attachments is virtually impossible

...I also get a blackberry instant message from a mate asking if I want to go for lunch. Nice! On the train to work I look at the emails to see what I'm going to face when I get to the office. Not much to worry about so I fire up the brickbreaker, the 'pearl' in the middle has taken some getting used to with brickbreaker but I'm starting to get some decent scores. More seriously though the 'pearl' at first is a little awkward but before long you're ...
...can get it on the blackberry as it's a word doc (pdfs I don't even bother trying because it's a nightmare with the blackberry). On the way home I catch up on a few emails, the predictive texting is ok and takes some getting used to but I'm a speed demon on it now so I can ping off a couple of emails within five mins. Sort that out and then text the wife to let her know my train time. I wouldn't say this is a smart phone, personal digital assistant ... Read review

Blackberry 8100
Review of RIM BlackBerry 8100 by ardleyf

Advantages: first RIM with camera, easy to use qwerty keyboard
Disadvantages: not much for how much it costs, limited internet and applications

this is my current phone and i have had it now for 18 months. it is one of the easiest phones i have ever used. this is mainly due to the qwerty key board which makes sending texts and emails so much easier. the 'pearl' track ball is the best creation on a phone since the directional buttons. it allows you to move to your required application so much faster and easier. the internet isnt so good because of the small screen it makes it so much harder ...
...internet i advise ither the samsung f700 or f490 and the apple iphone. the othe good feature of this phone is that it is the first blackberry to have a camera. this allows business photos to be taken on site and send to the office imediately for use and creates and bridge between the once large gap. ... Need email on the go? This is for you
Review of RIM Blackberry 7290 by secureinsomniac

Advantages: email on the go, calender, address book, good battery, easy to use, good visible display
Disadvantages: cost

I love getting my hands on new gadgets and when I had the opportunity to take possesion of a Blackberry 7290 for only £99.99 on an 18 month contract with Vodafone I jumped at the chance. Included within the box was the Blackberry itself, the software disk, a plug socket charger and a USB cable for transferring data to the desktop PC. The cable also doubles up as a charger for the battery which needs charging for about 12 hours before using it the ...
...the instructions as I found installing the software a bit of a nightmare at first and ended up on the phone to technical support twice. Each time they were very helpful and eventually a small icon appeared that shows the progress of data transfers and updates. So what is on the Blackberry that makes it special? Well, it's just like carrying your PC around with you. It can both send and receive emails using GPRS technology, can be used to make phone ... Read review

Fruity?
Review of Blackberry 8800 by AlastairI

Advantages: features, internet, email, intuitive
Disadvantages: phone, lacks some internet use

The Blackberry device has become synonimous with business men, everywhere you go there they are whipping it out of the belt clip case and pretending they are on an important business call or checking their emails. Truth be told they probably are, because the games are lacking on the Blackberry, this is a business tool and it really does shine in that area. As an email tool this really is an excellent device, you can connect to your client and have ...
...unlike other smart phones the Blackberry is not touch screen, so all actions are performed through a little ball in the middle just under the display. This is quite easy to use and spin across the options, of course this also prevents accidental selection of options when handling the phone. The extra programs are very easy to use, calculator is self explanatory, the calendar allows you to place appointments and alerts with ease using the keypad to ... Read review

Comms on the move
Review of RIM Blackberry 7230 by Danneey

Advantages: Push email, pda features
Disadvantages: a little bulky

Issued a blackberry as a replacement for my work mobile phone, and first impressions were that I didn't like it. I think this is just that I saw it as a very bulky mobile phone. Admittedly, this was a very short sighted view of the Blackberry, my opinion has changed now to appreciate how useful it is. The blackberry devices are still one of the few devices which has true push email. That is to say, when an email is received by the server at HQ, ...
...connect or login to the email server to download the email. The same applies to sending emails, you write your email, click send and away it goes. It still surprises people every now and then that I can respond so quickly to an email. There is a QWERTY keyboard for writing messages, and notes, although not large enough to use as a computer keyboard, familiarity with where letters are on the keyboard speed up the process. As a phone, I still have ... Read review
