A PC in a nutshell!
Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC H5550 by starmanx

Advantages: Accessories, quite luminous display, fingerprint reader
Disadvantages: Battery life, Applications

Hello, i bought the iPAQ H5550 on E-bay for 200 Pounds. The first thing that attracted my attention on this particular model , is the fingerprint reader. The device works well, better than more i have tried before. The accuracy of the read is based on the speed of the sliding of your finger on it, but i have to say that it has 99% chanche to recognize you at the first slide, after just a couple of tries. It also has integrated Wireless network card(802.11b),not ...
...will have to be upgraded from website, and if you want to use certificate for authentication you will need to purchase a third party application. The software included will allow you to easily work on Microsoft Office based document, it has Outlook and Internet Explorer as well, and you will find plenty of freeware/shareware application on the internet, being the device Windows Mobile 2003 based. It has a 400Mhz processor and 128 Mb of ram that makes ... Read review

A fantastic PDA
Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC Hx4700 by Honest.John

Advantages: Brilliant screen, plenty of power, excellent value.
Disadvantages: It did physically break but was covered in the warranty.

...is readily available on the HP website and other places that sell them online. This is intended as a 'what's is it really like to live with' review. I have had my 4700 for over 2 years now, which is longer than I have kept any similar device (I usually trade them in every year). The reason I have kept this one so long is that it still does everything I want it to do. I remember when I got it I was amazed at the clarity of the large 4In TFT screen ...
...I have owned. It has all the features I personally need (wifi - great for internet use, big clear screen, bluetooth for my keyboard & GPS and both an SD and Compact Flash slot for extra memory). I have bought a lot of software for the 4700 including SatNav (Navman) MP3 software, a better diary / address book and a few games and other applications. I use my 4700 every day and it very rarely lets me down. The battery life is good, but I have a charger ... Read review

Great Palm Device, even today!
Review of Palm Vx by OwlOwl

Advantages: Very reliable, fast, THOUSANDS!!! of accessories, Upgradeable OS to 4.1, good amount of memory (8MB)
Disadvantages: It doesn't to exactly everything today's handhelds can do now...

I find the Palm Vx is just a great organiser. I mean, it's so slim, and not to mention there are literally MILLIONS of accessories available for it! At this time of year (2008) I'm sure most of us will go out and buy a new PDA. But, with the thousands of Palm softwares available and most work with OS 3.5-4.1 (with the upgrade) still. I think it's the best Palm device yet (and the Tungsten T3), they've put a lot of work into it at the time and was ...
...most users even today considering Palm applications are very small. Although this thing doesn't have an MP3 player, color screen or video player, it's perfectly good for anything other than that. 8Mb might seem like little today, but as mentioned before considering how small the apps are it's not an issue at all. It's design is very sleek and slim, and many cases are available for it. In fact this Palm has the most accessories available for it compared ... Read review

PALM TREO 750. GOOD LOOKER WITH USER PROBLEMS.
Review of Palm Treo 750 by Hi-Spec-Tek

Advantages: IT DOES A JOB, GOOD LOOKING, SMALL.
Disadvantages: MANUFACTURERS ENGINEERING PROBLEMS

Palm Treo 750? Oh what an item! Such a useful device for your pocket/handbag, whatever - Or so I thought! I have had my Palm Treo 750 for about 8 months now but am not truly satisfied. This model cost in the range of £350.00 new. The good points are: Great mobile phone, useful diary, calender and all that you need in a "portable" office. The size is right, the feel of it is good, rounded, and comfortable to use. A good user friendly hand portable ...
...combat this problem. Now the Palm is too large to sit safely in its snug leather protective case. Oh dear! My biggest moan and findings of many who own one of these Palm Treo 750 are the same as I have stated and they have written to Palm regarding this matter of inactive, non-working touch-screen. No replies! Palm still make and do sell this model without having dealt with the very bad problem it has. There is no known cure as far as I can discern ... Read review

PDA's are the future!
Review of HTC Advantage X7500 by Mr.Freeman

Advantages: Wireless modem, USB port, Media creations..the list goes on!
Disadvantages: None

...But with devices like the HTC Advantage, most of those people eat their negative views. This is one device that integratesa an Intel Processor for faster processing and loading. It has an 8Gb expandable meory with other features ot allow expansion (if memory SD cards are used). Unlike many small brand PDA's, the HTC comes complete with a USB port to allow memory stick use, a headset connection and a video lead input. The camera on the front of the ...
...take images (only 3mp though unfortunately). The largest benefit to this device that I found was the battery power. I found that with general use and less time calling people, the battery supported the device for around 220 hours. A number not to be sniffed at! As with ohter top of the line PDA's, the device as an inbuilt GPS receiver for locations etc and a wireless modem for internet connection. All in all, a very good product for a reasonable ...
