My new digital friend
Review of HP iPAQ 614c Business Navigator by
ScottishWestie
Advantages: Features, well made, size & weight, value for money
Disadvantages: HP customer services, location of SD card
...years ago I purchased a HP ipaq 4150 pocket PC which served me very well in that space of time. The day I bought it I threw my pens & paper out the window & my life became better organised than ever. However, the software was no longer compatible with my home computer (Vista) & I was fed up of carrying around a mobile phone & a pocket PC all the time. I wanted something that integrated them both & recently started looking for a Smartphone.
I have ... ...The specifications of their new HP ipaq614c Smartphone were just what I was looking for & I started to track down a reasonably priced one.
P.A.Y.G. or contract?
HP in the UK don't sell their products via the large phone companies, that appealed to me as I preferred to use my P.A.Y.G. SIM card from Virgin. I'm not a heavy mobile user but the main reason I wanted a Smartphone is for the PC as well as being able to use the phone when necessary. This ...

The Compact iPAQ
Review of HP iPAQ 914c Business Messenger by
666Nemesis666
Advantages: Lots and lots of features, light, durable, easy to use (once you know how).
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly, menu's are not always easy to use.
...easy route planning. Using the HP GPS Navigation Kit you can even turn your iPAQ 914 into a Smart Travel Companion with Turn-by-Turn Navigation (no need to buy a TomTom then). And obviously no PDA would be complete without those familiar Windows Mobile® applications for organising your daily life. Something which you may not have thought possible was the inbuilt 3 Mega pixel camera - which can capture pictures or even take videos.
Full specs for ... ...* HP iPAQ Data Connect, HP VoiceReply; HP Voice Commander6; MMS Composer, Bluetooth Manager, Certificate Enroller, HP Photosmart Mobile, iPAQ Wireless Manager, Pocket Panel Lite, HP Help and Support, HP QuickStart Tour, HP Enterprise Mobility Agent;
* 1840 mAh Lithium Ion rechargeable, user changeable battery;
* Dimensions: 113 x 64 x 16 mm;
* Weight: 146g (5.15 oz). ...

Ok, so I was wrong....
Review of HTC P3450 by
JULIANMAURICE1
Advantages: size, bright vivid screen, ease of bluetooth synchronisation with outlook
Disadvantages: screen scratches easily and is poor in direct sunlight
Ok, so I'm fickle - after having my previous phone (i-mate jamin) stolen I have pulled my Touch out of storage.
My first review slated this phone but I have changed my mind after 3 weeks of use. It would be unfair to keep my old review considering my change of heart. Why have I changed my mind? well there are two main reasons. The first is the phone's size, I think that it's the smallest Pocket PC PDA available (please let me know if I'm wrong) ... ...that is truely pocketable. The second is the phones ability to Sync with outlook with Bluetooth, I just havn't been able to get it to work with any other pocket PC. Apart from the 2 reasns above, my Touch has been working without a glitch for a couple of weeks now. I have kept the aftermarket software installations down to a minimum as the internal storage is low spec. I have installed TCPMP player which will play Divx files, I do a lot of travelling ...

HTC TyTN II best phone in the world
Review of HTC TyTN II by
TimJ
Advantages: Does everything in an ideal form factor
Disadvantages: Battery won't last 2 days without a re-charge.
...around on a table. The HTC unit has a slightly rubberised back, which doesn't slide and is easier to hold.
Also, synchronisation with WM6 and ActiveSync 4.5 is awkward and takes a lot of coaxing.
Also, don't use the provided version of Sprite Backup, it'll duplicate files on your machine and if you have 6000-odd PIM items, you'll get a 30 Mb pim.vol file that when duplicated will grind the machine to a halt. Use version 6, available direct from ...

HTC touch dual?
Review of HTC Touch Dual by
Pukingherbert
Advantages: large library of programs for download
Disadvantages: No Wifi, Camera poor, touch screen for stylus not fingers.
The HTC Touch dual is a slick PDA/mobile phone, made of mostly a black rubbery plastic lined around the outside with a silver plastic. The case contains 3 hardware buttons, a touch pad and touch sensitive screen. The case can slide out to reveal a 16 button keypad. On the back is a 2 mega pixels camera without flash.
The HTC touch dual runs on Windows mobile 6.0 which comes with many useful programs, such as Word mobile, Excel Mobile etc. There ... ...In conclusion this phone is for those who enjoy their software over their hardware. The is a lot of software that can be downloaded for the HTC touch dual. However, it looks like they have cut corners on the hardware to keep up with the iphone and the touch screen. ...
