Books without paper.
Review of Sony Portable Reader PRS-505 by Cat199

Advantages: Small, lightweight, ideal for travel, capacity to store many books
Disadvantages: Availability of reader, availability of books

...and in particular of the Sony Reader. Unlike me, he tends to think hard about his purchases in advance and so there were many conversations (well not really conversations as that would assume my participation) around the virtues of this product before he actually decided to take the plunge and get one. I am by no means a prolific reader and my literary tastes are not as high brow as his, but I do appreciate books. I like to see books lined up on ...
...card slots, one takes a Sony memory stick (can be used in other Sony products such as cameras and laptops) and there is also a slot which will fit an SD memory card, commonly used in cameras as well. Either of these would allow you to have thousands of books at your fingertips. I personally am not sure this is necessary and would prefer to keep it to a more manageable hundred or so. When I am choosing my next book to read, I am not sure I want to ... Read review

Good Hardware
Review of Sony CLIÉ PEG-UX50 by Hawke2007

Advantages: Solid Build, Very Portable, Nice Feel, Cool Features, Sony Memory Stick PRO
Disadvantages: Battery life isn't great.

I bought this product recently and have been extremely impressed. Yes, I realise that I am 4 years behind the times, but its cheap now and was over £500 back then. So I see it as a bargain. First things first as a Personal Organiser this is an amazing machine, it contains all the software that you need for organising your life. But if you are looking for more than just a To-Do list, Calendar, Contacts etc. then you will need to have a quick look ...
...for Video Playing, it plays a multitude of formats very well. QuickWord and QuickSheet (Unfortunately costs money) are the Palm versions of Office Word and Excel. SplashID for everything to store secretly. pTunes for music playback (MP3s etc.). Agendus Pro to improve the Organising functions and of course Monopoly for those rather boring of times. The UX50 also has built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which can be very useful and the browser supplied is ... Read review

Review of Sony CLIÉ PEG-SJ30 by Davidthomas19

Advantages: Lightweight, Good screen and cover
Disadvantages: Loss of data and programs, battery

...unit, as it came. And this has happened more than once. So if you are looking for something to use EVERY day, this is for you, if not, i suggest buying a top of the range phone such as a Sony Ericssion P900 or a XD handheld/phone. Save your money. ... Read review

Should i purchase a Sony Clié NX70V
Review of Sony CLIÉ PEG-NX70V by shotgun_norman

Advantages: Most functional / stylish / value for money PDA avialable on the market, does anthing you want
Disadvantages: every so slightly bulky

...the easy User Interface that Sony have designed into this magical hand held it is a doddle to work around. I have used other work colleagues PDA's previously to get used to the whole concept but im definitely glad that i made this choice! the NX70V has almost everything you want, data organisers, plenty of software available, it also has a built in 0.3megapixel camera which is great for taking reference photos / movies, the camera is not clear ...
...for taking pictures / movies of an overall scenario, on top of this there is also an voice recorder function which is useful as you can then use your PDA as a dictaphone! As with most PDA's you can convert this into a GPRS unit by purchasing TOM TOM software (or equivalent) and a GPRS receiver (This is next on my list of to do things!) The only drawbacks i can see on this unit when compared to the Palm Tungsten T4 are, is that the NX70V does not ... Read review

Good but could be much better.
Review of Sony CLIÉ PEG-NR70V by Joshlay1

Advantages: Good Camera and Video, mp3 player, keyboard, documents to go!
Disadvantages: Memory, no allowance of WMA, no bluetooth, no flash, limited access to lots of software

When i first got this i thought it was the coolest thing ever, i had to buy a 128mb memory card, so i could put mp3's and lil movies on it. That was very cool. I love the camera, the camera is great and can really get some good quality pictures, and video. Pity there is no flash though. I also bought an LAN card so i could use the internet with it when in networks, this was very slow and i felt was quite a waste of money, but that is a diferent ...
...helpful, i loved using the keyboard and typing mini essays which i could continue when at home. The keys are very small so i misspelt alot of the words. It is a really handy little tool, to use as a camera or word processor, but the other little address book contacts etc, can all be kept on an up to date mobile phone. You will need to buy a large memory card to use it so you might aswell just buy a more recent model, and dont waste your money on ... Read review
