Review of HP iPAQ Rx5720 Travel Companion by dansteele316

Advantages: excellent for the traveller
Disadvantages: price could be lower

The travel companion is great for people on the move. Its comes complete withsat nav stand for sticking to the window of your car for when its in sat nav mode and also has good charger for socket and car socket that does not fall out if you go round a corner. Its stylish in appearance a you can rotate the screen so you can hold it which ever way you like, which is great if you left handed and not right as most dont do that or take it into account. ...
...you can still charge the unit whilst its in the case which prevents any damage. The software preloaded on it when i got it was windows mobile five which has internet explorer and the usual powerpoint, word, excel and a few games but its also really easy to download software and put it on to the ipaq. Anything from movies player to mp3 player, extra games and maps for the sat nav. The sat nav installed is tom tom which is one of the best around and ... Read review

not hard enough for me
Review of Acer N35 GPS by pehorts

Advantages: destinator software
Disadvantages: not very robust or hard wearing.

i have used the acer n35 hand held computor for over 12months. the destinator software is satisfactory and does get you from a to b without any fuss but is not as good or as durable as some of the other navigation software titles. the destinator maps can be viewed in 2d, 3d or birds eye view, i found the 3d view to be the best as you will see where your going much clearer but to get the street names to come up on screen you will need to see the ...
...do compare favourably however the points of interests are included but creating your own or editing existing poi's is complicated but not impossible. you do get options of navigating to addresses, street names, postcodes or poi's with the addition of navigating to street junctions. it does compare well to the tom tom system but not as easy to use or adapt. you do not have extra voices to buy either however you can add your own voices in .wav format ... Great IPAQ!!! :-)
Review of Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3760 by Ian233mmx

Advantages: Easy to use, Looks nice, Expansion packs available, Can be used for GPS or MP3 player.
Disadvantages: Battery life can be quite low if the screen backlight is on, Expansion packs are expensive.

I am very pleased with my Ipaq. My IPAQ was running Windows Pocket PC (ce 3.0), which is fully of handy features, however recently I decided I wanted to try installing Linux on it and see how it goes. So with help from my mate I installed GPE Linux, and it is currently working fine. Linux comes with more features than Windows Pocket PC, and I would recommend installing Linux on your Ipaq only if you have experience with Linux. Overall I love the ...
...clear screen. Although the battery life can be a bit short, I usually don’t have any problems providing I remember to charge it up every other night! I got my Ipaq from ebay fairly cheap, so I would recommend having a look on there for one if you interested. BUT if you want expansion packs for your ipaq, you’re usually better off buying an Ipaq with the expansion pack included in the sale rather than buying the Ipaq and Expansion pack separately, ...
