IPAQ 214 - Good product let down by poor reliability

Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Reliability and customer service

...the base of the IPAQ. HP "service" say I have made a mistake and want to charge me over £100 to repair the unit. They are not listening to customers who know there is a genuine issue with the equipment. A pity because in all other respects, the IPAQ fully satisfied my requirements, was easy to set up and use and promised to be a useful piece of equipment. I can still use it but only with the USB charging facility which is very slow and requires computer ...

HP iPAQ 114 - A fine 'basic' PDA

Advantages: Value for money, fast processor, stylus
Disadvantages: Weight (too light!), lots of pressure needed to use touch screen

HP iPaq 114 Classic Background HP's iPAQ 114 Classic is amongst one of the newest models released by HP in its completely overhauled range. This new series of PDAs consists of; the 100 & 200 series which are basic PDAs running on Windows Mobile 6.0, the 300 series (which has built in GPS) and the 600 & 900 series which have built in cellular phones and GPS system. I am reviewing a model which sits in the 100 series. What's in the box The list ...
...etc Overview The HP iPAQ 114 has had a bit of a face lift when comparing it with older revisions of the iPAQ family however it still manages to keep the well known shape and layout common to most iPAQs past and present. The brushed metal effect with chrome buttons is pleasing to the eye yet it doesn't look too cheap and tacky. Notable specifications for the HP iPAQ 114 are as follows; - Windows Mobile 6 Classic operating system - Marvell 624Mhz ...

My HP IPAQ Pocket PC Hx2790 Review

Advantages: Battery life, Easy synchronisation, WIFI and application compatability
Disadvantages: Not too good speaker quality

I bought this device last year and have had almost no trouble with it since i got it. The device has a nice little docking station which worked great after installing microsoft activesync. As soon as you sit it on the docking station, all of your files, emails and just about anything you want will synchronise with the device to keep you up to date. It also charges from the mains and USB at the same time when its on the docking station so thats helpfull. ...
...front which ensures that nobody but me can access the device as everything is encrypted unti l i slide my finger down the front. There are lots of applications that can be bought or downloaded and installed via activesync to make additions to the device. Ive got to say, one of the biggest advantages of this device is the battery life, even though i have the device set to power off after five minutes of inactivity, it can last for six hours no problem ...

HP iPAQ Pocket PC H2210

Advantages: Small and Compact while runs smoothly
Disadvantages: Can be prone to crashing if using high spec software

I recently purchased this IPAQ, and after a couple of months of use have no doubts that I have made a good choice. Along with a decent sized SD card the IPAQ can act as any number of items that are individually available such as and mp3/ mp4 player, Sony PSP, a phone (I recommend Skype PDA), and even as a universal remote. As previously stated, this PDA can crash if too many programs run at once, which is not hard to do as a majority of the software ...
...sized SD card (512 MB +) is used for most of the added software and files, crashing can be avoided fairly easily. The IPAQ also includes a flash card slot which allows the user to insert a wireless internet card, the connection then available is usually quite fast as it doesn't connect to Desktop PC websites but a downsized version. The 3.5 inch touch screen has settings which are simple to manipulate such as brightness of the back light, sharpness ...

Quite handy

Advantages: Really useful, easy to use
Disadvantages: Some aspects have stopped working, won't work with my new N rated internet

I picked one of these up abroad in Canada 3 years ago at a pretty good price, I found it very handy and very easy to use. I originaly used it to conect to my internet at home, but after upgrading the internet it wasn't compatable so i'm making do without. It is an excellent tool, with XP i would sync it using the software it came with, and vistas new Windows Mobile Device Center also does an excellent job. The onboard memory is not huge, but then ...
...top and it's fine, so it's never been an issue for me. My first stylus wore down but it was simple to pick up another one. The battery is not too bad during use, but it does tend to drop down if you leave it turned off for a week or too, so keep an eye on it. The onboard sound isn't fantastic but I don't use it for that so it's fine. The buttons on the front however are a bit iffy, some of mine have stopped working. Also my Word Mobile software ...
