Review of Sharp ZQ-290 II
Advantages: Great surfing experience, nice screen Disadvantages: Shame it does not make phone calls like a regular mobile phone
The Nokia N800 internet tablet landed on my desk today, and having previously tested the N770 I was a little excited to see what had changed and/or improved. More importantly, would I now find a use for the device, when last time around I was left mystified as to how useful it would be for my day-to-day use. Out of the box the design has improved a great deal. Gone are the slab-like looks of the previous incarnation and you can say hello to some ... ...finish to the front. The buttons are a bit odd, sort of set off-centre, and a little non-tactile, but you won't find this a problem, as they are not used too much. The touch screen is the same as before, a glossy finish, very high resolution (800x400) and everything is really colourful, bright and pin-sharp (more on this later). Around the back of the unit is a small flip out stand, which is great for when you are watching videos, and also useful ...

Review of Mio P350
Advantages: Great multipurpose PDA Disadvantages: The handwriting recognition program
...happened to stumble upon the Acer N311 on Ebay at would seemed like a remarkably good price £120. I had no need for this PDA (personal digital assistant) but was driven by a force stronger than man to make the purchase. As it turned out my purchase was not such a waste of money as I first assumed.
The Acer N311 in size is about 3 inches high, by 2 inches wide; it’s just over half an inch deep. It has a nice sized screen so you can see all the data ... ...palm products Graffiti; on the Acer it gives it no name but works the same as Graffiti. This works on a sort of points system, you write down the letters but make emphasised points at the top and bottom of each letter. After a while both you and the PDA get used to each other, but I cant deny it will stress you out to start with there are only so many times you can write Thinks, only to see the word Thanks appear without it driving you mad.
There ...

Review of Acer N311
Advantages: Good GPS integration, useful combination of functions Disadvantages: Very limited connectivity, low battery life.
The unit is very capable as GPS navigation. Also built in GPS functions are very useful. As a PDA this is now on the low end of the scale, as the connectivity is very limited. There is no Wi-fi or bluetooth capability built in. Also the SD card slot can't be used for Wi-fi or bluetooth SD card. Standard Palm OS 5.0 provides good overall performance. Another downside is a battery. Not only it's built-in and has to be changed by Garmin, but the capacity ... ...screen on bright, it may only last for little over an hour. There is third party battery extender available, which uses 4 AA batteries. This is very useful for hiking or any application without external power. I also used it successfully as a secondary navigation aid for an airplane. There is additional third party software available
Overall it's good as GPS with occasional use as simple PDA ...
