I had to pay a visit to the PDSA on friday, i dont have a car so it took us 2 hours to get there, the bus was in roadworks, so i was 10 mins late for my appointment, im disabled and had to sit and wait 90 minutes before i was seen ( even though people were coming straight in and being seen) .
it seems know they have a new policy, the old way was they gave you an envelope and asked for a minimum of a fiver, know it says on the envelope "your visit will cost more than £20", and on the back they right your name and the pets, i didnt like that cause its name and shame.
when we finally got to see a vet, she was south african, rude abusive, he only went for a nail trim, but as he hadnt seen a vet for two years they wanted to check him over, she took him to be weighed, i believe they did something to him, cause he shot back to me hid behind my legs, and his eyes were all red and teary. he then went to have his nails trimmed and she cut him and he was bleeding all over the floor. he is supposed to go back on the 14th to have a piece of muscle tissue removed, its not cancerous and does not need to be removed, and i have been told its going to cost £75 pounds, needless to say im going to cancel the appointment. I know these places are a charity, but if i had pet insurance it would only cost me the excess of a claim being £50....... I will not be returning there, i shall be getting pet insurance for the future. also they do their own pet insurance which i asked a quote for, i was amazed at being told £550 for the year.
thanks, i left the review because of the way i was treated, and the effect its had on my dog, hes become really clingy and will not leave my side, and follows me everywhere.
They did not like me cancelling the op and wanted to know why so i told them. I just wish they would not advocate " free petcare" because its not, you feel emotionally blackmailed into donating more than you can really afford.

Good review. I wish you luck with future visits to other vets. Flo
