I'm saying this because it's a bargain if your looking for a cheap upgrade to your 6200 or 7300gs or lower graphic cards. I have tested it myself and compared it to the both of the above cards and it is faster than both of them.
Still four generations in and the low-end segment of Nvidia does still come equipped with the 64-bit memory bus although this doesn't really affect performance in games as much as you think, currently games are becoming more shader intensive rather memory intensive. The core of 8400gs is the same as the 8500gt, so it has 16 Unified shaders which are capable of outputting how many pixel, vertex or geometry shaders that a particular game demands. For example a game might need, 8 pixel, 4vertex and 2 geometry (The Geometry shader is only...

Advantages: Nvidia - reliable drivers, overclocks really well Disadvantages: Getting a bit old now
...This card has been around for a couple of years now, but with prices always falling the 6600 GT from PNY makes an ideal choice for the all but serious gamer.
I haven't found a game that this video card hasn't able to run. Granted, it will not run the latest range of games on full detail with Anti-Aliasing cranked up, but matched with a Gig of RAM and at least a 2Ghz CPU you will be fine.
Company of Heroes for example runs really smoothly @ 1024x768 with 2x AA and graphics detail set about 95% to max. And this is a game that recommends at least a 6800 chipset.
If you are looking for a capable video card that can still deliver great graphics performance then you'd be hard pushed to find better perfomance for the price....

...decided to upgrade my computer about two months ago. I did a lot of research on the processor (AMD Athlon 64 4000+) I wanted to buy, the motherboard (Asus A8V Deluxe) I had in mind, but I knew exactly which video card I wanted. When I bought this the nVidia 7800 GT was still in the making, so the 6800 GT was the best video card for me at that time.
I was upgrading from my old PNY Verto GeForce 5200 FX 128MB video card which was good, but I craved more graphic power and I would need to spend a much greater amount to acquire that. The reason I chose PNY is because I read good reviews about them and I have on-hand experience with one of their products.
