I purchased this graphics card for around £115; I am using it in conjunction with a 2.8 GHz Celeron and 768MB DDR Ram. I was curious at first as to whether it would be worth the £115 I paid for it and whether it would be any better than my previous ATI 128MB Card.

What's in the box?
Included with this card is a DVI - VGA adapter, this means you can have 2 VGA monitors plugged in at once. I found this very useful as I do not have a DVI monitor and I regularly play games and listen to music, so having a second monitor available is helpful as I can have my game on one screen and my media player on the other. Also included is an HDTV cable, this plugs into the graphics card and has a few different video connections on it, S-video, composite video, and RGB video. With these connections you can use TV's, projectors etc. but only one device can run from this at any one time. You are given a 2-way 4-pin Molex splitter for if you do not have any spare on your power supply. I think this shows that the manufacturer was actually thinking about what the user is going to need when they are installing the card, and it makes sure the card can be used straight away as the user will not have to wait for any power splitters that they might have needed to order.
Packaging
The graphics card came packaged very well, wrapped in bubble wrap and then an anti-static bag, the adapter, the HDTV cable; the DVI-AGP adapter and the Molex splitter were is sealed plastic bags. All of the performance features and system requirements are on the back of the box along with the features and benefits written in 7 different languages.
Installation
i found the card very easy to install, the drivers installed with no problems and i had the card up and running in no time.
The Software
I found the NVIDIA software reasonably easy to use, the simple setting are easily laid out in an expanding menu view (start menu style) when you click on the NVIDIA icon in the taskbar. It has very simple performance options; you can set it to high performance, performance, quality and high quality, This I found useful when switching between older games that have low requirements and newer games that will not run smoothly if it is set to high quality. Using this in conjunction with in-game graphics setting you can achieve a smoothly running game with good graphics. The nView desktop manager would be useful for some people but not for me, it allows you to use multiple desktops and you can switch between them. This feature would be helpful if you have lots of windows open at once, it would be a lot easier to navigate with multiple desktops. Another cool feature of this software is the ability to set up mouse "gestures" such as moving the mouse round in circles while holding shift could be set up to do an action like switching desktops or opening task manager. I wouldn't say that this is particulary useful, just fun.
This card has an overclock feature, but i havn't yet tried it as i am worried it will overheat the card, i will wait until i have a better heatsink for the graphics card before i attempt at overclocking it. i have been nothing but impressed with this card from the day i brought it. I havn't yet had a crash from the graphics card or the software, this was a problem with my previous ATi graphics card but i have had no such problem with this one.
Overall i think this is great value for money, produces some good looking graphics and is very easy to use. Anyone who is planning on buying a new graphics card i think you should give this one a try.
Advantages: AMAZING GRAPHICS, loads of other features like Shadow and Lighting 'add-ons' Disadvantages: None that I have noticed!
I bought this card for around £120 after my ATi Radeon cooked itsefl, i was expecting this card to do the same as my ATi as it was the nVidia equivalent, but boy did it surprise me!! I pluged it into my mobo (a.k.a. motherboard - for you non-sad people out there!), installed the drivers, and it worked like a dream, no problems whatsoever, all i have had to do is update the drivers.
As well as being a breeze to install and set up, it is also very ... ...but when my PSU (power supply) went wrong, and surged power into my system, the graphics card survived, and the CPU, mobo and RAM didnt!
Also, this card comes packed with extra features, like:
-Superscalar GPU architecture
-NVIDIA® UltraShadow™ II Technology
-NVIDIA® Intellisample™ 3.0 Technology
-NVIDIA® Digital Vibrance Control™ 3.0 Technology
AND it is fully compatable with DirectX 9 (apparently uncommon with cards of this price range!). ...

Advantages: Very, Very fast, Stunning Graphics, Very Reasonable in Price Disadvantages: Can be heard when playing a game with no sound, can get quite hot
I had ordered a copy of battlefield 2 for my PC and at the time was running a geforce 4 mx440, and I knew this combination would be absolutely useless even if it did get the game to run, so I went in search for a graphics card, which would play brand new thirsty games for a few years to come and that is compatible with my AGP socket. I looked atround at the different brands available, ATI and Nvidia, and strook of ATI quite quickly as I didn't know ... ...Nvidia range which was quite a lot of fun. I initially was going to opt for a geforce 5500 but i discovered this was a very low end card and would only marginally beat my exisitng card. I then upped the anti so to speak and looked at the geforce 5900 range. This looked promising with some good write ups, and the one i settled for was the 5900XT, the top of the line one.
But as you know the story does not end here. Just before I ordered it , it became ...

Advantages: Nvidia - reliable drivers, overclocks really well Disadvantages: Getting a bit old now
...falling the 6600 GT from PNY makes an ideal choice for the all but serious gamer.
I haven't found a game that this video card hasn't able to run. Granted, it will not run the latest range of games on full detail with Anti-Aliasing cranked up, but matched with a Gig of RAM and at least a 2Ghz CPU you will be fine.
Company of Heroes for example runs really smoothly @ 1024x768 with 2x AA and graphics detail set about 95% to max. And this is a game ...

Advantages: Superb budget upgrade for the latest games Disadvantages: Can struggle with the very latest graphics.
This card is very fast for around a £100, great for a cheap upgrade if you on a budget. I ran some of the latest games with great graphics as well as running very smooth. Installation was easy, just plug it in install the drivers from the CD and it will work perfectly. As this is the GT version the memory runs at 1ghz compared the 400mhz that the standard card runs at. To enhance this card to it's maximum the drivers have a built in overclock feature ...
