This game has to have the most ridiculous plot of any racing game in existence. It is stupid. The intro sequence (although looking good) is just silly.
However, this don't detract from the racing. It is fast. The cars hit each other and roll around. They get dented. They leave skidmarks. They're very close to the track.
Although the graphics lack a load of fancy stuff you'd see nowadays, they remain very very fast and don't look dated at all. The ... ...only five catergories to customise them in (accelerate, handling, etc), they can make a lot of difference (is you car going to be stuck to the road, or do you want to sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide). The jumps are wikked, and the add on bonus tracks are mental and good for a laugh.
There are a decent number of tracks and although the other cars are tough, after a while you can beat them everytime. In comes time attack... ...
