The machine is DVD, ... ...that itwon’t resume from where it left off when you put it in standby, which is sometimes very frustrating.
All in all though whether this is bought as a second machine for the bedroom, or the first DVD player someone buys, the Pacific will surely not disappoint. ... more
With my old dvd player recently throwing a school girl like tantrum and refusing to play any more, i was forced into buying a replacement machine.

The first thing i noticed when purchasding the dvd player is that a Scart lead provided with the player - Bonus!!
The machine is set to Region 2 out of the box, however if you look on-line there are many sites which list codes allowing you to easily change the machine to multi region, allowing a greater selection of dvd
The machine is DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 compatible, has a 3 step zoom function, multi speed slow motion, on screen displays, and a rather nice touch is supplied with a Scart lead in the box. The machine offers up to 16x Fast Forward and Reverse playback, with slow motion in increments of one half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth speeds. The manual also lists features such as skip forward and back, 2 way repeat, and programmable playback.
The remote is a cheap plasticy affair, with 40 small buttons and like i said does feel really cheap.
The drive tray is smooth and quiet and the overall operation of the whole machine is reassuringly fast.
The machine in incredibly slim at only 46mm high, only 218mm deep, and is the standard 430mm width allowing it to nicely sit on top of a VCR,. The machine is very light weighing in at approx 1.7kg meaning transportation of unit is vitually effortless. For your money you will get a slim, good looking player with great MP3 playback functionality and good video and audio capabilities.
The only main concern i have about this machine is that itwon’t resume from where it left off when you put it in standby, which is sometimes very frustrating.
All in all though whether this is bought as a second machine for the bedroom, or the first DVD player someone buys, the Pacific will surely not disappoint.
This review is about the Pacific DVD 1002 MK2 Player specifically. This DVD player is a definite recommendation to anyone looking for a DVD player. Ok, so it might not be highly sophisticated with DVD recording or surround sound or anything, but it is simple, easy to use and is cheap as chips.
I got this DVD player as another birthday present from my boyfriend (yes he is very good to me and I never tend to buy electrical stuff for myself – you should ... ...when my friends upgrade). He purchased this from Asda, it’s local and cheap! It only cost £34.95, which wasn’t the cheapest one there but looked the best. Also, it had to have my TV sitting on top of it, so it needed to be sturdy enough to hold that. The player itself:
