The customer services and post-purchase support is excellent here in the UK, but I have to say you must either work for a phone compnay and get ... ...ring their helpline with any serious problems, as the calls cost 75p a minute. One time my dad was on hold for 10 minutes which already ate up £7.50!
I loved the fact that I got a lot of software with the computer, and that everything is compatible, unlike my darn laptop I purchased a year later.
Id recommend this company to anyone, as they are very supportive to their customers but they also do machines for everyone and for every purpose ... more

Advantages: Low priced, easily obtainable and comes with tutoring software. Disadvantages: None unless you are looking for mega power.

The PB multimedia range of computers are probably amongst the best Packard have produced, at least as far as design and simplicity goes.
A relative of mine acquired one recently, and with no PC knowledge at all he was well and truly stuffed, well at least that's what he thought. You see Packard Bell have organised their own software package to accompany windows, and what it does is teach you from scratch how ... ...first thing you see when it's booted up is an option screen full of educational facts in plain English, both verbally and in a text format, so for someone with none or little understanding it's great.
Aside from the software package the 9030 system, although being simplified, has all you need to get started.
The basics are as follows: You get a 15 inch screen with a built in stereo speaker system, which I must admit sound pretty good when you consider ...

Advantages: Good software packages, good value for money. Disadvantages: Some techincal problems.
I bought a Packard Bell PC last june. I had been given good reccomendations for packard bell. When we got the PC home we had lots of problems. The CD-rewriter and the DVD drive!!! Along with some software problems!!!
But when we finally got the problems fixed, the computer and software were excellent, it was great value for money.
I would definatly reccomend Packard bell to anybody else.
They make excellent computers which are worth every penny ...

...first easy thing about the Packard Bell compared to most of the others was the restore or re-mastering disk had all the software on it, so if I needed to restore the computer I did not need to get different disks out for the drivers such as the modem and other internal items. It was an easy process which as a novice I could undertake without feeling daunted. The problem with Packard Bells is that the company does like to go for custom designed cases, ... ...up grade the machine due to the lack of space and the odd shape cases. It is also worth noting that their customer services are also very helpful, and if you have problems will not only help on the phone but send out disks to rectify the problem. If you are going to get one just make sure it will be able to take future upgrades. ...
