Advantages: It works well Disadvantages: None so far
The 17” Packard Bell monitor that came with the Packard Bell imedia 6200 computer came complete with a pair of Diamond Audio Technology speakers that clip onto each side, a power lead, a connecting lead to the tower and a warranty booklet in umpteen different languages but no manual. I even had to get the model number of A726 from the box. Then again you don’t need a manual unless you want to know any technical details about the monitor, ... ...I was assured by the PC World salesman that the monitor had a fast refresh rate but he couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me what it was. He could, however, quote me chapter and verse as to the cost and duration of a service plan. He also assured me that it was suitable for all possible current screen modes and as far as I can tell it is. At least it displays quite adequately the top resolution of 1280 x 1024 that the computer can muster.

It takes up a desk area of 2 feet wide by 18 inches deep and stands just under 18 inches tall. It has a swivel and tilt base that on my set-up puts the top of the screen level with my eyes. Not exactly ideal but with the screen tilted upwards it’s just about O.K. A suitable base to put the centre of the screen level with my eyes is on the cards and will be forthcoming just as soon as I find a bit of timber and time.
Advantages: 17", speakers included, Disadvantages: no manual
I bought a i media computer Christmas 2000 brought it home and am now typing on it ITS STILL WORKING!!! woohoo. Anyway the monitor I received was the A726 a 17" screen with narrow edges looks neat!. And ever since I have loved the little computer and its monitor!
Extra
Surprisingly enough this computer actually comes with two DIAMOND audio technology speakers as standard. Most monitors you buy nowadays you must buy the speakers separate. The quality ... ...the sound is still crystal clear well you could say DIAMOND clear. These clip onto the side of your monitor freeing up a bit bore space underneath making your computer desktop look much less cluttered EXCELLENT!!!
Back to the monitor!
OK the on screen functions are as follows;
brightness of the screen
contrast of the screen
Degauss

Advantages: Don't even go there! Disadvantages: They don't work!, Packard Bell are incompetent
I am writing this as a warning to anyone thinking of buying a PackardBell computer. We bought our PackardBell iconnect 1350 from PC World for £849 in May 2001. It came with a 17" A726 monitor, a 56K modem, an 800Mhz processor, 64MB RAM, 8MB shared memory and a 20GB hard drive. A very good deal - or so we thought.
Within weeks we were having problems with the computer. It kept crashing, particularly when we were on the Internet, and when we contacted Aol we were told that files were conflicting between it and the Windows Me installed on the computer. Fair enough we thought, but still a bit of a pain. However, it did not stop there.
Soon the computer was seemingly crashing at random, and to make matters worse, it would never allow us to reset via. the 'Ctrl, Alt + Delete method'. It can never be good to have to keep switching off ...
