The laptop that I am reviewing is very slightly different to the one featured, as it is the packard bell easynote GN45-032, although the only real difference is that my laptop has a 160GB memory compared to the GN45-P-050 which has 80GB, mine did not come with vista loaded, but have since loaded it and my laptop is a skype edition which basically means that it has a button next to the camera which takes you straight to skype, which is a programme which allows the user to make free video internet phone calls to anyone anywhere in the world.
Features:
Operating System:Windows XP media centre Processor:Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5200 Cache memory:1MB Chipset:Intel 945GM Installed Memory:1024MB DDR2 Memory on Hard Drive:160GB Screen Resolution: 1280x800 Screen size:14'' TFT Disk Drive: DVD+/- R9 USB ports: 3 x 2.0 Firewall:Yes VGA: Yes and DVI Audio in:Yes Microphone in:Yes Headphone out:Yes Ethernet:10/1000 LAN WiFi:802.11 a/b/g Dimensions:337x240x33mm Weight:2.4kg Waranty:1 year Although it is annoying that this laptop comes loaded with only windows media centre, which means that it doesn't have word, excel or powerpoint it does have:
Play DVDs: which is laid out specifically for watching dvds, and is easy to use
My TV: where you can watch TV and record TV from more than one channel at the same time
My music: for listening to music (funnily enough) which is nicely laid out, but I still use i-tunes, as I just prefer it
My video: where all of the videos on your laptop can be seen, no matter what format
My pictures: which is similar to Microsoft picture manager
My radio: This allows you to listen to internet and FM radio in one place, it also lets you rewind, or pause up to 30 minutes of live radio which is always useful when the phone rings or the doorbell goes!
This laptop also has a 4 in 1 card reader and an inbuilt web cam with a speaker-which means I didn't have do go out a buy one, or try and fit them into my laptop case somehow. Although it annoyingly didn't come with Microsoft office installed, luckily I managed to get windows vista on offer, however it still added a large cost to the price of my laptop, seeing as I got it reconditioned for £479.99 and vista cost me around £200.
One large problem that I found with my laptop was after about 10 months the disk drive just stopped working altogether, then after researching this, I found that it was a common problem and was featured on the tech guys websites with a number of ways of trying to resolve the issue, none of which worked, eventually it had to be sent off and the whole disk drive had to be replaced, luckily as it was under warranty I didn't need to pay for this, however it was close, and would have been relatively expensive out of warranty.
Another good feature of this laptop is its small size with a 14'' screen, which may not be as good for watching films but is good for carrying around (if you can find a small enough case). It also has a eco button for when the batteries low, and a WIFI button so that the internet can be turned off, which stops the distraction of facebook whilst I try and do my homework.
The laptop is now available form PC world for £599.99 and vista for £201.48 for the home premium edition.
Apart from this it has worked perfectly and I would recommend it to most users, looking for an OK laptop which isn't too expensive but has a huge memory, and is portable because of it's small size.

Vista cost you £200?? That's complete insanity, especially considering that it isn't really that much of an improvement on XP and far more buggy in the long run. The laptop sounds nice though.
