Packard Bell (Shop)

Packard Bell do nothing more than manipulate ill informed people, selling them way more than you will ever get. The computers themselves are aimed at first time users and so the most vulnerable customers as well as helpless parents around christmas who don't know any better. To be frank in my opinon the computers do nothing more than make your life hell and cost over the odds.

The big stores are all in on the conspiracy against home owners, in order to make as much money as they possibly can. The sharp tounged sales man and the look of the computer sway people to pay twice as much as the computer is worth and then they sell extended coverage on the computer. This all sounds good until you get the computer home. Their cover will cost you £500 which will never be used as most of the parts on the computer have their own manufacturers warranty anyway, all Packard Bell do is get your money and then send hardware back to the manufacturer and it costs them nothing. Yet they have taken a hell of a lot off money off those who can't afford it.

The warrenty is a laugh, there are so many small prints that fiddle the consumer that it is laughable and god forbid you should ever need to call the help lines! They cost you a fortune and the people on the other end of the phone are crap. I have tried to get things out of the company and several items where never even ordered and i had to ring on a seperate occasssion. The staff treat you like you are stupid and are so patronising it's a joke.

With my computer there isn't even a windows CD, it's a windows companion CD and this is usless when it comes to trying to format the hard disk.

In short the computers are a rip off, the sevice is crap and they take you for every penny they can get, stay well clear.
