Dulux Weathershield white gloss for external use Advantages: Very durable - excellent gloss retention Disadvantages: Very slightly more expensive ...painter/decorator he suggested I use Dulux Weathershield that was available from my local trade outlet. Although this product is slightly more expensive it has proved to be excellent value. I sanded down the old paintwork, applied primer to exposed surfaces, one coat of Dulux Weatershield undercoat and finished it off with one coat of Dulux Weathershield gloss. dulux paint Advantages: good coverage Disadvantages: can't think of any I have just decorated my living room in this paint in soft truffle and truly sand colours, definitely will stick to this for decorating in the future as worked out cheaper than the cheaper paints as only needed half as much paint, gave a really good finish and came out the the colour it gave on the tin which a lon of the cheaper paints dont. Also got good deal as on offer at 3 for 2 in Homebase in Focus at present. Focus slightly cheaper at £14.99 ... DIY'er Advantages: Paint consistency, easy to see contrast and keep wet edge going Disadvantages: Probably won't cover as much as stated on tin ...of the house with normal dulux white matt emulsion I was puzzled when I came to paint 2 of the bedroom ceilings. The rollered job looked awful and very patchy in both natural and artificial light despite my following the correct techniques and number of coats for new plaster (which also worked very well in other rooms). I was really baffled by the problem and read these reviews for this product of which I was previously very sceptical. Still reserving ... ...'magic' paint and I am so glad I did! This paint is so easy to use and it really does exaclty what it says on the tin. Not sure why a previous reviewer could see no contrast in colour because,m whilst it is a pale pink the contrast was was very clear to me and I painted my ceilings at 10pm in bad light with 1 light bulb. The best thing for me though was the consistency of the paint which is clever as it is not too thick as with some white emulsions ... Dulux Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint Advantages: Rainproof in 30 minutes Disadvantages: Spillages need to be wiped up to avoid staining ...outside of my house with Dulux Weathershield textured masonry paint. This paint contains an acryylic resin which guarantees protection from all types of weather for up to 15 years. It can be bought in 2.5l or 5l tins. Normal price for a 5L tin is £23.99 but it is on offer in June at Focus for 3 tins for the price of 2. It can be used on dry exterior rendering and masonry and even brick and is mould and algae resistant. It comes in a range of colours ... ...covers about 45 square metres and is rainproof in 30 minutes - something to consider with the British climate! However, it usually takes about 4 hours to thoroughly dry. The texture of the paint is like double cream and can be applied with either a roller or brush. It is very easy to apply and covers the walls well. I applied quite a bit to make sure the wall was covered well, so that I didn't have to do a second coat.
