2 Shahid Afridi:- A young and upcoming player who has hit the fastest century ever and can come up trumps on his day. Also is capable of taking a few wickets with his spin.
3 Abdur Razzaq:- A very useful all-rounder. Who is a excellent bowler and bowls good line a length. He is also and good striker of the ball who can play at number three or lower down the order.
4 Inzamam-ul-haq:- A very useful player. He may be poor in running, but can thrash any bowling attack. If he stays for long a big total is on for sure.
5 Yousuf Youhana:- A great player who makes a great partnership with Inzamam. Rotates the strike around and can play big shots when needed. Capable of building big partnerships and making big scores.
6 Younis Khan:- A great aggressive stroke player. This man has great technique and is a sweet timer of a cricket ball. He can make big partnerships and can also give a quick fire knock.
7 Azhar Mahmood:- Another excellent all-rounder. A good seam bowler who can take crucial wickets. He nearly always makes quick fire runs, but is capable of helping when his team needs him the most.
8 Rashid Latif:- A great wicket keeper who has just regained his place. He hits many unorthodox shots, which makes it hard to set a field against.
9 Wasim Akram:- A world class bowler who can destroy any line up. Regarded as one of the best bowlers of all time. He can also fire up a quick 40 - 50.
10 Saqlain Mushtaq:- Regarded as one of the best off-spinners in the world. Has a great variation who can make the ball go the other way. He is also capable of hitting a few lusty blows with the bat.
11 Waqar Younis:- A great bowler who is a great exponent of the reverse swing. He’s only second to Wasim Akram in the leading wicket takers list. Not as fast and as devastating as before, but is able to get any batsman out.
This team has a excellent balance.
9 People who can bat and can make heavy scores. 3 All-rounders who are excellent in both parts of the game. 2 Fast bowlers who can destroy any team. 2 Spinners. One who can make the ball go the other way and one who has a 70-80 mph fast ball.
When any of them are unfit they can call on heaps of other talent to fill in. Below are a few.
Imran Nazir:- A superb opening batsman. Has a variety of excellent shots. He can take the team to a good start and a big total.
Shoaib Akhtar:- Known as the ’’Rawalpindi Express’’. He is known to be the fastest bowler around. Can take a flurry of wickets and is able to destroy any team.
Shoaib Malik:- He is a clone of Saqlain who also has the ’’wrong one’’, but is a better fielder and batsman than Saqlain. He is regarded as a all-rounder.

...in a test series in Pakistan the series was most famously remembered for the disgraceful confrontation between England captain Mike Gatting and local Test umpire Shakoor Rana. Whilst that incident had the positive development in the use of independent umpires it partly resulted in the temporary cessation of Test tours by England until this winter season. Other incidents also occurred and whilst the series was concluded largely according to the original ... ...hardship bonus for playing in Pakistan was regarded by many in that country as a bit of an insult. Conditions are said to be much improved for the current touring party and I fervently hope that relations between the England and Pakistan teams are warm and encourage more frequent tours.
The absence of tours means that none of the present England touring party has had any experience of the conditions on the Indian sub-continent which can have a significant ...

Having witnessed the latest case of a team being 'Afridi-ed', on this occasion English county side Lancashire, I did not know whether to laugh or cry. Despite having over 100 one day internationals and 11 test matches already under his belt, Shahid Afridi still lives for the high speed, all-or-nothing approach. His critics view the agressive 21-year-old Pathan as foolish and perhaps even 'brain-dead'. His protagonists may refer to his style as cavalier ... ...talent. Some may say he has no place in international cricket whereas others insist that on the basis of natural flair, he should be a regular fixture in even the test side. Love him or hate him, one cannot overlook the raw talent and potential that is at stake here. Eventually, even those who hope for the day that Afridi develops into a 'genuine batsman' may be resigned to the fact that within this dynamic youngster looms an inborn power. This power ...

Javed Miandad's tenure as Pakistan cricket team's coach has been extended until the 2003 World Cup. Miandad, 43, took over as coach after Pakistan lost two Tests in the home series against Sri Lanka last March. Pakistan won the last Test against Sri Lanka in Karachi with Miandad as coach and then lifted the Sharjah Cup triangular series and the first Asia Cup title in Dhaka. He also led Pakistan to an away Test series victory against Sri Lanka. Pakistan ...

...In one day matches Pakistan are better than England but Australia are better than both of them. The Pakistan teams have played well against England but against Australia they were thrashed.
They have a mixture of players, ranging from youth to experience, Yousuf Yohanna has been their best player in terms of batting. They too like the other teams have had to cope with injuries with Wasim Akram and Shoiab Akthar being ruled out. What really impresses ... ...England.
I think the Pakistan side is a good team but they can be bowled out, especially if they lose a few quick wickets. But, what they do well is under-pressure they can still get out of a tight corner. Waqar Younis has just been exceptional for them. Yesterday, his figures of 2-20 in 10 overs for me won the match for Pakistan. His spells were awesome, and his second wicket got the vital breakthrough just when England looked like they were going ...

...Triangular Series 2000, against two Pakistan players and the Captain of the cricket team has caused a furore in the cricket World. In Pakistan the news has spread a wave of disappointment among millions of cricket fans. Most of them feel that their cricketing heroes have been made the victims of stark injustice. Mr. Reid fined Waqar Younis 50% of his match fee and awarded him a one ODI match suspension, while Azhar Mahmood was fined 30% of his match ... ...incidents took place during the Pakistan match against South Africa on 8 July 2000. The question arises, was the player asked to explain his action before awarding him such a severe punishment? It is quite likely that he was cleaning the ball of mud, dust or any other element. How was his intention of ball tampering confirmed? It may he recalled that the issue of ball tampering cropped up during Pakistan team's tour of England in 1992. High level ...

I have decided to publish on Ciao a series of my University assays, in order to help other Ciao'ers who may either be studying similar modules, or, to demonstrate ( loosely !!! ;-) ..)how an essay might be written, The following essay is from my 2nd year, it was an asessed Politics Module essay whilst at University.....
Asessed Essay Title .....'What factors best explain the collapse of military
regimes in Pakistan?'
There is such a lot to write about, I don?t believe that it is possible to do any real justice to the subject without an understanding of the History of Pakistan and the people who have ruled the country over the last 50 years or so, this in turn takes up so much space that it is difficult to contain oneself to 2,000 words without losing much of the essence of the original title. I would however like to try ...
I wasn't surprised that England won a historic test match to beat Pakistan on the last day on the third test.
Pakistan are not the force they were. That's quite simple. Wasim Akram is older and didn't even play in the last match. Waquar Younis isn't the same are awesome has he was.
England have good players and a excellent bowling attack. Like Gough and Caddick with the excellent Ashley Giles and Craig White.
It seems that England have finally got a excellent bowling attack.
They have a good batting linesman with Atherton, Stewart, Hussein, Threstotic.
Nasser Hussein has done an excellent job although his personal form isn't that good, he's had more success than many other England captain's in recent time.
Well done to Nasser Hussein and the England team. ...

Those words bring excitement in the heart of any Cricket Lovers no matter which country you?re in. These to arch rivals battle it out with all their passion, skill, charisma and talent and as you might know in this case failure is not an option. If you witnessed the last serious between these too cricketing powers you?d know India decimated Pakistan without any respite. The fact is this is the biggest and most emotional contest superceding our very own ashes.
Even though Pakistan led the series two games two one with two to play for Indian somehow managed to do what they?ve been doing on a regular basis recently, believe in themselves, and pull themselves out of a hole with unmatchable tenacity. They not only leveled the series but one the last game very convincingly indeed. Pakistan were left aghast and not knowing what hit them, in ...
