...This is a cool piece of kit, basically a 3Com IIIx, but with a translucent case like the iMac. Other than that it is identical to the 3com IIIx, with the same cradle and palm desktop software. The palm PDA's really come into their own when they are used in conjunction with the Microsoft Outlook Conduit to read your PC email offline, and reply offline. The included Palm Desktop software included is adequate, but not substantial for use, but you can download thousands of other Freeware / Shareware / 3rd party apps. Battery life is excellent, (About 3 months for a set of 2 AAA batteries!) All in all, you should buy one!... Read review

...After always desiring after a PDA I took up an offer on www.letsbuyit.com making a saving of over UK£50.00 for the Palm IIIc. 7 days later palm anounced price cuts anyway and so to me it was just a bit of fast marketing my the auction site. Anyway, it arrived and I proudly set up the address book etc and used it for about 2 weeks. Now, 10 weeks later it sits in its HotSync cradle at home waiting for me to get back using it again. PDAs are organisers, but you need to be an organised person to use one and I a not. I like scraps of paper to lose and phone numbers written on the back of my hand that get washed off. However, the Palm IIIc does come out now and again when I need to impress my peers. Whilst the product is obviously of good quality I would hate to see unorganised people who will never be organised in a month... Read review

Advantages: extremely portable, 8MB storage capacity

...looks like plastic, so I'm going to put my money on that. There is a flip cover to protect the screen. In the back there is a handy holder into which you slide the stylus when not in use, the stylus being the thin black pen-like object which you use when touching the screen. It runs on two AAA batteries. When the Palm IIIxe is turned off the screen is a vaguely greenish colour. There is also a Hotsync cradle (another plastic affair), into which you place the Palm when 'syncing' (to be explained further below). Then again, as they say, looks aren't everything and in this case what goes on inside this Palm is a lot more impressive than the first impression it creates. It has 8MB of storage capacity.
