ELC Flash cards, simple but effective.

Advantages: Cheap, simple and effective
Disadvantages: Can get a bit bent after a lot of use.

When my son was due to start school last year he had no interest at all in learning to read so we tried to look at alternatives to make reading fun. My friend had given us some of the phonic books from the ELC and some of them interested him. He didnt want to read them but was looking at the pictures. I began to wonder if the pictures we actually distracting him and making him think that he didnt need to read. So on a trip into town I popped into the ELC and could not believe the range of reading materials that they stock. I found this set of flash cards and thought for £3.50 it would be worth a shot. Review of ELC Flash Cards

Superb Compact Flash card

Advantages: Performance and speed
Disadvantages: Higher cost than lower level models

Having bought this card to be used in Canon EOS 20D & 40D digital cameras they are extremely rapid and much better than the lower speed Sandisk Compact Flashes or other makes. The cameras have not as yet had to stop shooting to allow the card to catch up to write data during picture taking even in rapid fire sports mode. Have had no failure with data capture and have been used in extreme temperatures, holiday in Australia (39C) and a family wedding in Austria (-10C). The cards didn't seem to lose any performance in the big changes in temperature which can occur with lesser models. I would thoroughly reccomend these cards to anyone prepared to spend that little bit extra the performance justifies the cost. Look out for sale offers on them to make them really good value for money. ...

Review of Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash CF 2GB 2048 MB

Beauty Flash Bum!

Advantages: None that I can think of
Disadvantages: Expensive and over-rated

I was given a tube of this 'wonder cream' as a Christmas present from my in-laws just last Christmas. It sat inside my dressing table drawer until about three weeks ago, still in its original box/packaging etc, unused. I don't know why it's taken me so long to open the box and read the 'instructions leaflet' and actually use the stuff - maybe I was having a 'premonition' about it?? I have to say, Clairins Beauty Flash Balm, or, as it states in the French (also on the packaging/tube) "Baume Beaute Eclair" has been probably THE most disappointing beauty product I have used, EVER!! I've used a lot during my years, but this stuff does not live up to the hype, so don't waste your money. The tube I was given is a 50ml (1.7floz) size and I believe it costs somewhere in the region of £17.00 to £19.00 in major department stores. I ...
