Fogort to mention gestures, you can control things like the browser back action with the swipe of a finger in the gesture area below the screen, I'm so used to this now that if I pick up a phone witout it I find myself trying to swipe and peform gestures with no effect, think that's me a palm fan for life now.
Look/feel I think the phone looks great its sleek and fits well in your pocket unlike other phones which can feel too large to carry around in my jean pockets, sometimes it does fell a bit slippy and I have nearly dropped it a couple of times, I find it easier to hold browsing the web with the keypad out although I am not using the keypad, I now have a protective case so it feels a little easier to hold.

Build Quality Seems fine, I have had the phone less than a month so time will tell, there have been some mention of build quality issues online but I can’t verify then as yet. I will update in a few months if I have any issues.
Interface Love the interface which is based on the concept of cards on the webOS, its easy to open and close items with the flick of the finger. I find multitasking like checking reference numbers while talking on the phone easy, I have always found that difficult and clumsy on other phones.
It’s great when you start typing something and the pre automatically searches your contacts and then gives you the option to search Google, Wikipedia, Google Maps or Twitter.
Screen/ Web Browsing This is a capacitive touch screen so you can pinch to zoom, it has full browser support so is great for surfing the web although as usual some sites display better than others, have some trouble getting the text a decent reading size on certain websites. No Flash support at this time which is a major disappointment but its due early 2010, think this is essential to get the full web. No support for streaming .mpg files which is disappointing.
Keypad Drop down QWERTY keypad, appears a little small when you look at it but I have no problems using it, I don’t like onscreen keypads and this was one of the main reasons I bought the pre, the only time I have a little difficulty is when entering numbers on the keypad rather than the screen, the rest of the time it works great for me and I have quite fat fingers.
Email I have set this to pull in email form 3 different providers, Gmail, Hotmail and BT yahoo they can merge into one inbox which I find really handy as I found checking all 3 accounts tedious, now I can just look at 1 inbox. I do have some issues with BT Yahoo as it keeps saying my password needs updating but I have a feeling this is a BT Yahoo issue.
Exchange is supported but I have yet got this to work correctly, there are dependencies on the server side setup so if you need this feature as a business requirement it may be worth checking with your IT department as the forums are full of issues with exchange support issues, this may improve over time.
Best email support I have seen from multiple providers, love how this works and don’t think I would like to move away from webOS after using it.
Calendar The Pre integrates all of you calendars into one place with is great if you and separate work and personal calendar views, Calendar integration with my online accounts was seamless you can look at all calendars at once or pick just one, simply entered my email and password and it they all synced, do have a few issue with it occasionally asking for my BT Yahoo password.
I have not set this up with my Microsoft Exchange account but I understand this may not be as simple as you would expect
Camera 3MP seems adequate and takes a good picture but if you are looking for a true camera style phone I would go elsewhere, good enough for the occasional quick shot which you can easily seamlessly upload to Facebook.
Battery life BUY A CAR CHARGER! As with most smart phone appears shocking, I am currently tweaking the settings to try and get the most out of it, I read somewhere that it would do 300hrs on standby but they must have been smoking something as currently my device can’t even last a day, as always depends on use.
Applications Built in Application store with growing support, has Google maps and GPS support with locations services which work well, Facebook application appears to be a waste of time but the mobile web version works really well so I just don’t use the download Palm Pre version as it appears to have no functionality. App store improving al the time with the usual weather news type applications, a lot of the applications do seems to be USA orientated.
Summary Overall I love this phone but I don’t like lack of support for streaming video other than the built in YouTube app, Missing flash support at this time is disappointing but it is supposedly supported early 2010, this will improve the web experience massively.
Love the fact I have not had to add any contacts they had been pulled in automatically from my Facebook Gmail, Hotmail and BT Yahoo accounts which I thought was great, in America they seem to have already launched the ‘Palm Pre Plus’ so it may be worth waiting before you purchase as they have most likely tweaked the hardware design a bit, have no idea of a UK release.
Love the way you contacts automatically update with Facebook profile pictures, and the Synergy system which pulls all your contact/email information into one place and makes it easy to find.
Card system makes it very easy to open and close tasks for multi tasking. Palm Pre is definitely worth a look if you are looking for a decent smart phone to integrate all your online email/contacts
Advantages: Beautiful, useful, well built, amazing multitasking Disadvantages: keyboard may be small to some, app catalog is slowly but steadily growing
I received my new Palm pre about 3 weeks ago from, and from day one i cant seem to keep it out of my hands. In my opinion it is the best, easiest to use, and has more potential then any other phone I have used, or that is on the market. The first thing im greeted with when I power on the pre is an astonishing video that shows how nice the screen really is. When you slide the phone up there lays the qwerty keyboard.( in my opinion it is a little small ... ...the phone better myself. The palm pre in my opinion runs very fast, of course there is the occasional lag when running multiple apps, but i cant complain. The app catalogue isnt the best in my opinion. It is growing and i think the potential is great. It just simply hasn't been that long since the pre has been out, apps will come, and there are still enough to keep you busy. The camera is decent, i think it lacks in features, i wonder in palm will ...

Advantages: Easy to use. Compact. Beautiful looking. Unisex. Disadvantages: No bluetooth
I finally found my (almost) perfect phone. I stumbled across this beautiful looking pre-pay Samsung SGH E300 on the Virgin website for a very reasonable price. Its small compact size fits comfortably into the palm of your hand and its sleek design would appeal to both men and women alike.
The camera takes clear looking pictures - you can access it through the main menu or there is a button on the side of the phone making taking photos quicker and easier. The only drawback to this side button is that it can easily get pressed mistakenly - I have got a great collection of photos of the inside of my handbag!!
It has got all the usual features like, SMS, MMS & EMS and WAP browser. Its has an easy to use organiser. It has 4 Java games - BubbleSmile, Fun2Link, Mobile Chess and Ultimate Golf Challenge.
The only drawback is no ...
at any one time then I have to remove one before I can receive another. Making a call is easy even if you aren't using any of the above features.
Messages are just as easy but incorporate a couple extra features. Not only can you send the 160 character messages as normal but if your are texting another Savvy user then you can choose to have one of 25 different icons to accompany the message. It only uses 3 characters worth of space on the message and if you choose an icon to send to a non Savvy user them they will receive the text equivalent. These Icons range from smiley faces to a dog to a palm tree. But there’s more! There are 13 pre-programmed messages so that you can send a common message without all that typing. Some good examples are : Happy Birthday! and I Love you.
Navigation of the menus are very easy as it is all ...
Advantages: WLAN, Symbian S60 V3 Os, compact size, good battery, huge range of software Disadvantages: Average camera, data entry slightly awkward, no HSPDA
65.
There are 4 shortcut buttons on the front for - Contacts, Conference Calling, Mute and Custom Key. The conference call button highlights the potential market Nokia hopes to attract with this audience - businessmen. Sorry but this is wasted on me and probably a high proportion of E65 users - shame they had to take up a dedicated key on the front panel for this.
The E65 runs on the Symbian operating system, specifically the S60 v3 variety. It is one of the smallest phones to run this OS, which is normally found on larger models and PDA's. This means that the phone is a small computer which you can load applications onto just like Windows or Palm OS.
To illustrate this there is a dizzying range of software pre-installed. Being a smartphone you get QuickOffice to view docs, spreadsheets and Powerpoints. You also get a PDF ...
