Advantages: Nice looking phone, feature rich Disadvantages: screen scratches, not the most durable phone on the market.

Luckily I managed to find some screen polish on ebay that manages to get rid of these scratches, but it does get annoying to keep having to "fix" the screen, so I recommend getting a screen protector if you do get this phone.

Luckily I managed to find some screen polish on ebay that manages to get rid of these scratches, but it does get annoying to keep having to "fix" the screen, so I recommend getting a screen protector if you do get this phone.
The usb socket can be temperamental at the best of times, when I plug in the phones charger I have to fiddle around with the lead and get it into exactly the right position otherwise the phone won't charge,this is annoying and clearly the phone hasn't been designed well enough in this respect. Again connecting the phone to a pc can be difficult, in the middle of a document transfer it will just randomly disconnect.
The battery life is ok but its not good enough, especially considering this is a phone designed for business which means that its likely to get heavy use from its user.
The phone is feature rich, as I mentioned above the email feature is great, browsing the internet is a good experience although it can be a little fiddly as the palm treo does not have a touch screen so you have to use the key pad to scroll down and this can prove to be rather time consuming. The phone can be used to play mp3 music, although it doesn't have a lot of storage room, but enough for 20-30 songs, I imagine you can upgrade its storage capacity by buying a memory card, but am not sure.
I like watching youtube on my phone and the large screen makes this a pleasure. The phone comes with a couple of games, one of which being bubble breaker which is great if you have a spare few minutes on the train or fancy a quick break! The phones camera is pretty good, and allows you to take good quality pictures.
Would I recommend this phone? Yes, but be aware of the screen tendency to scratch and be aware that its not the most durable phone that has ever been created but its not expensive when compared to similar phone types, it has a good range of features and once you have it you are unlikely to want to be without it for long. The QWERTY keyboard makes typing easy meaning that its easy to compose emails and send texts on the move. If you can find it at a good price, then its worth buying.
Advantages: Good size, good features, easy to use, feels good, stylish, fast internet and good battery life. Disadvantages: Poor build quality, some software issues.
Having used Palm for several years in varying shape and form, when looking for a new mobile phone to replace a Nokia, given good experiences of Palm in the past, it seemed a good idea to give their new (as was then) smart phone a try. The first three or so months of owning the phone proved the 500 has plenty of features and is rather user friendly, it felt and looked great and build quality hadn't proven to be much of a problem, however after this ... ...be the socket used to plug in a USB cable / charger. The quality of this is has proven to be questionable, considering that it is very easy to disconnect the socket from the main circuit board inside the phone, making charging either challenging or impossible. Other build quality issues include how well the keys are fixed. The qwerty keyboard stays in place without issue and feels very robust, but I have had problems where the hot keys used to control ...

I chose the Palm Treo 500 for the fact that it has a full keypad for typing, in the style of the blackberry and iphone design rather than having to rely on predictive text etc for email, and although the buttons are naturally small, this aspect of the phone is still very appealing. Caps lock typing can be very awkward however... As a macintosh user, I wasn't sure about using a windows based product, but the functionality is very good and simple to ... ...It is important with the Palm Treo and similar products to not expect too much from these facilities - I use the email on the move to answer quick queries and alert me to any issues that need attention, rather than expecting to be able to see all detail on a 1.5" x 2" screen. The phone overall is great and I would recommend - It is worth keeping protected when being carried around as the screen could be easily damaged and I wouldn't like to drop ...

Quick review of Palm Treo 500
I got this phone in december and it was the first new phone i had bought in years. The menu was a little complicated to access because there are 2 of them offering different things but this just takes time to get used to. Love accessing the interent but it is not as easy to view websites and complete tasks as i expected. I just thought it would be full webpages shrank and you just scrolled but it is the same as the older WAP phones where there are lots of different pges to scoll thro just to get to one part of a homepage for example. Load ringer and the option of increased memory is a bonus. Quite nice little camera. ...
