Back in June when Palm had the 'football game' competition on, I won my trusty little (well actually rather large) treo 650. I believe that the only reason I find it large is because I have had lighter, smaller sony ericsson phones beforehand.

I wasn't too sure that I would enjoy the 'Treo experience' at first, but boy I was wrong. I love the phone to bits. I know there was a few problems with the original 650s sent out with the original firmware, but as far as I'm concerned it is absolutely brilliant.

The Screen:-
I admitt that it is not the latest technology, as there are 262k screens out there now. But the large screen (I think it's about 2 inches square) is rather adequate and bright even though it is only 65k.

The Keypad:-
This is another factor of the phone which I believe to be rather annoying at first. Once I got the hang of typing on a QWERTY thumbpad, It was all go...also, there is a blue section of the keyboard which is the number pad - so you don't have to use the stylus and onscreen pad to dial numbers.

On my treo 650, It came with the current version of Documents to go (7.005), but I'm pretty sure that if I register it I will then get an update.

One thing I would recommend everyone to do, is making sure you stick on the screen protector (mine came with one in-box) properly. I had to unpeal as I did it wrong and then it basically....mucked up.

I don't find the volume of ringtones etc. annoying, as they are rather loud (even though I've read reviews saying they're extremely quiet). The one thing I would like to point out is that the voice quality is NOT that good.

Finally, I would like to point out that this smartphone has a SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) rating of 1.51 W/kg. The FCC limit for public exposure from mobiles is a SAR level of 1.6 watts per kilogram (information from palminfocenter), so it is fairly high on the raditation risk.

Overall, I would say that this is a brilliant smartphone. The only draw-backs are the high-levels of radiation and the bad voice-quality.
