You can install additional expansion cards so that you can back up data, photos and video, listen to MP3s and add new applications. I must have installed the Versa Mail, otherwise you will not find some of these applications initially. Its been almost more than 6 months since I started using this PDA :)
The features which I most use and which I found most useful are the one's which I am going to highlight
upon.
Contacts

I synchronize all my contacts details from my MS outlook by simply connecting my Zire 72 to my computer via a USB cable. The installation process is simple and the application can be installed on your PC with the installation CD which comes along with the PDA. The contact detials include the name, address, phone number, email id etc., This synchornization takes place through the Hot Sync. You just have to click on this button on the PDA and the Hot sync which would be on your task bar on the computer will start showing the synchronizing. Its fairly simple and easy to use.
Photos

The Camera is a powerful and is 1.2 Mega Pixel. The Photos are good and taking photos is a simple and easy. You can transfer them to your computer also. The camera is rear mounted and does not have any cover that is the only grouse. It can capture images upto 1280x920 resolution and has a 2x digital zoom. The camera can also capture videos upto 320x240 resolution with audio.
Calendar

I use this to keep update of things which I need to do during the day and meeting reminders etc., its very useful and handy.
This again gets updated from my MS outlook when the synchronization option is selected. You can select or deselect this from the sync.
Card Info

This is the additional memory cards which you have inserted / installed, I first initially thought it to be the place to store your credit card information, don't be misled like me.. .:)
Bluetooth

This is again a powerful feature, I can transfer small files and contact information from my other bluetooth devices. Have not used this much, but have tested this with small contact information and have found it working without any problems.
Notepad

This is the place where you do all your scribbling etc., this again can be synchronized with your MS outlook. I have used this feature and keep it updated. I normally store all my frequently used login id's and passwords in this.
Solitaire (Games section)

This ofcourse is the most used feature of this PDA :)). This is the same which comes on the windows. I am not sure now whether this comes with the standard or I have installed this later from somewhere, please excuse me for that, but you now know that you have this feature / option installable on your Zire 72. :)
Voice Memo

You can record voice memo here. The speaker is mounted at the rear below the camera lens. The mp3's and the voice memos are quite clear and loud. IT already has the RealOne Player with it. I have used it to record my daughters voice when she was singing without her knowledge. I hear this often when i get bored :) I am sure you can find a more innovative use for this :)
Screen

The Screen is bright and its display is a square 320x320 pixel transflective TFT colour display and it supports over 65000 colours.
Battery Life

It has a 950mAH rechargeable lithium ion battery. The battery should last for one week assuming an average of 30 minutes a day usage.

Customer Support

The first 90 days the support is free, I had a tough time locating the customer support email id and the phone numbers. After the first 90 days this is a paid service.
