What is it?
This is a lip butter or lip balm as most commonly known made by Palmer's who make all the body butter products. It is made for applying to your lips to make them smooth and shiny.
Tube and Size: ...squeezy tube that is 10g/35oz in size. The tube is white in colour, the same as most of the other Palmer's product bottles and with the same orange 'Palmer's' logo in the top left corner. Tube and Size: The size of the lip butter is in a squeezy tube that is 10g/35oz in size. The tube is white in colour, the same as most of the other Palmer's product bottles and with the same orange 'Palmer's' logo in the top left corner. The tube is a decent size if you ask me and I like that it's a squeezy type unlike some that are a solid tube and then you can't reach the last bit! Because of the shape it means it is easy to apply to the lips and it glides on nicely.
Scent: This is the main thing about it that I love and the reason my friend had bought it for me in the first place is because she knows how much I love chocolate and mint. It says dark chocolate but to me it is just chocolate and mint so I cannot really say that anybody who picked it up who say ' ooh it dark choc and mint!' but you can certainly smell the mint and the chocolate when you open it and start applying it to your lips! The smell is really strong and is lovely when you can smell it wafting up whilst you are talking!
The lip butter: The lip butter or balm is quite a thick consistency which I really like as it stays on your lips and doesn't feel like it's 'running'. It feels really soft and almost creamy when you first apply it and when you rub your lips together you can really feel it there and your lips are really gliding over one another. The butter itself contains Vitamin E and the peppermint smell comes from the Mentha Piperita Oil contained in it.
Does it last long? Well in terms of on your lips I would say it doesn't stay put as long as some lip butter's or balms but this is probably due to that I find myself licking my lips all the time! In terms of how long the tube lasts I have had it now just over 2 months and use it several times a day and it still has lots left from what I can tell.
Cost: The cost of this varies depending on where you buy it from. My friend bought it in Boots where it retails for £1.79, but if you do struggle to find it then there are various online stores that sell it - just have a look around for the best deal as most seem to be American sites.
Overall opinion: I love how this smells and I'm sure loads of others will too - it is simply lovely to apply and feels gorgeous on your lips so I would highly recommend this to those out there that love the smell of Chocolate and mint as much as I do!

Being prone to dry, chapped lips, and having the disgusting habit to chew my lips off, a good lip balm is something of an essential product for me. I came across Palmer's Dark chocolate & Peppermint lip butter in Boots, they keep it with all the vaseline and other lip balms, as you'd expect. It caught my eye because it is in one of those packets with the square cardboard back and the plastic over the top (the type that never rips of properly) so ... ...magic of Palmer's so i grabbed it. I think it was about £3 ish for 10grams, so not too expensive.
The tube is white plastic with brown writing and the Palmer's logo at the top. The lid is a simple screw off lid, you cannot stand the tube up on the lid but it looks like you should be able to because it is that kind of triangular shape.
It says:

This Palmer's lip butter is the perfect cross between lip balm and lip gloss. The butter is packaged in a white, easy-to-use squeezy tube with a screw top. The applicator is slightly slanted for easy application, which is highly useful. Firstly, the scent is gorgeous. It really does smell like peppermint and dark chocolate - almost good enough to eat and a major advantage compared with some other lip treatments. The peppermint aspect of the butter ... ...is actually working. The texture of the butter is oozy and soft, unlike solid lip balms but is thicker than most lip glosses. It glides on easily and creates a subtle gloss effect. It doesn't just look and smell good, though - it really does work. I brought this at the start of last month (March 2009) and thought "hmmm why not give this product a try? It's about £2.44 but i'll still give it a go," Alot of people Love it, but i really don't know why. To me it is over priced vaseline, that has a chocolate smell (which isn't very strong and doesn't last long) and mint flavoured (which quickly fades)
When i first tried this i've got to admit i did really like it. i LOVED the smell-and the tatste! ... ...and it rubs off easily when i eat food or drink. When i first put it on my lips, the peppermint tingled them (i thought this is what it did to make it work) I did really like the glossiness it gave me, instead of drying up your lips with normal lipgloss i deceided to use palmer's coca butter formula lip butter.
End of april now that i have almost had it for 2 months, yes there is a quite a bit left but it has this funny weird feeling. I've got it ...

Most importantly, the butter is highly effective when it comes to moisturising and softening the lips. It is lovely and soothing, even on a chapped or sensitive mouth. Equally as good if you spend much time outdoors in harsh conditions as in the handbag on a night out.
This lip ... ...glosses that stick your hair to your lips - the butter will give your lips a subtle shine that looks gorgeous. It looks equally great over the top of lipstick for a little more gloss and moisture.
It smells (and feels) great. The chocolate and peppermint taste is so distinctive and, I'm sure, will appeal to most women!

This review is about the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. Lip Butter. (Dark Chocolate and Peppermint). I first brought this product in Dubai with the body butter (in the new pump bottle, which i will review soon). I needed something for my lips because they was drying out and i was not happy with my regular twist up lip balm. I find these types of lip product leaves white bits on your lips. Not attractive. When i got this i tried it our straight away ... ...dark chocolate. Very nice indeed. It comes in a convenient tube so you can easily put it in your handbag and this product lasts for ages. This leaves no white marks and as an added extra it leaves a lovely gloss on your lips. It conditions your lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth.
