Being one of those teenagers finding life hard and it getting me so down sometimes that I used to slit my wrists, I have some nasty scars all down my left arm mainly and sometimes looking at them reminds me too much of the hurt and pain caused throughout my childhood. All I've wanted to do for a while is get rid of the scars completely, but unfortunately it takes time to heal like everything in life. While I went through these periods of slitting my wrists, I used to use salt water baths to try and close the wounds, and then I would apply a thin layer of palmer's cocoabutter. This smoothed out the scars, and due to getting out of habits easily, I eventually stopped using it. Finding it out of a drawer in the past fortnight, I decided to try and get rid of my scars for good, and twice a day I have been rubbing it on my arms
and finding the results really working. Here, in this review, I will describe to you this miracle cream and tell you what it does, how it does it and all the little details in between.
Available in: tube jar and lotion Massage cream and lotion for stretch marks Fragrance free lotion Fragrance free tube Nursing cream Bottom butter For dry itchy skinsoothing oil Skin smoothing lotion Firming butter Moisturising body wash Facial moisturiser
I have the jar version of the palmer's cocoa butter and the cream inside is in one semi solid lump. If you drop it on the floor, it doesn't spill everywhere or go all over the place in the jar itself. It stays in one solid lump which I find very effective and useful, because I hate creams getting stuck in the edges round the top of a lid. When you look in the tub and see the cream, your first thoughts are am I going to be able to get the cream out because it looks too hard to be able to get out and smooth on your skin. But this is wrong. Just apply some pressure on the cream and rub it back and forth a little to warm it up and it will come out as easy as one two three. When you open the lid, you are hit with a strong cocoa chocolaty smell which smells divine. Because you have to warm up the cream a little to get it out, it's easy to smooth on your skin, it isn't cold and warms up your arm quite a bit.
How to use
As I've told you already how to get the cream out, I'm now going to tell you how to apply. Find the area you want to smooth over and blend in with the rest of your skin, whether a scar or stretch mark. Then, apply a thin layer twice a day, once in the morning, once in the evening. Depending on how bad the scar or stretch mark is, the results should show through thoroughly after 2-5weeks at this amount. Some of my better scars disappeared completely after two weeks; others took almost six weeks to completely disappear. I think that this is a brilliant cream to remove the scars or stretch marks you want to lose. My mum used this cream for her stretch marks after her forth child born a few years back, and used this cream for two months. Although the marks haven't completely gone, you can hardly recognise them anymore. You only see them if you get up really close to her. Depending on your skin type, the effect of the cream on your skin may take longer to work. I have very fair skin and this may be why it's taken so long, and my mum also has fair skin and so this may be why her stretch marks never completely disappeared.
No matter what, this cream has certainly helped to rid of the scars I made as a younger teenager and I am glad to be able to wear sleeveless tops without being ashamed or having to explain about my scars. Pregnant women who suffer from stretch marks will find this cream very useful to use as it does help and makes you feel more confident. A lot of people these days care about their image and sometimes, making yourself feel better by giving yourself a better image, can help self esteem levels. This cream really is a miracle worker and I thoroughly recommend it.
Lasts for a very long time, mine has lasted me for 5months so far, and thats with both me and my mum using it at various times.
Available: all good pharmacy stores such as Boots or superdrug for around £1.98-£4 depending on which type you decide to get, and what size.
