What is it? *********** Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. It's a kind of moisturising skin cream for the body.
Special features? ****************** It claims to soften, smooth and relieve dry skin. It's main active and most beneficial ingredient being cocoa butter. It also contains coconut oil and vitamin E.
Is it any good? *************** I first bought this so I could use it to moisturise my skin after a shower. But I found it too rich and didn't absorb quick enough before I had to get dressed. I would often feel a bit clammy with all my clothes on, not a good thing. Plus the smell of the cocoa butter is quite strong and as it's also an artificial scent, I think it somehow reacts with the skin, warm temperature or something, because the scent gradually changes into some annoying aroma that puts you off sitting near to anyone for the worry of smelling like you had terrible body odour or something. This, I never bought again for a while.
However, last month, I was in desperate need of something for my hands and this was the only thing affordable thing on the shelves. It claimed to have a new formula and this time I could feel a better difference. The cream was slightly lighter in texture and absorbed quicker than before. This is quite a rich cream so does still take some time to sink in, once it has - there is no greasiness, unlike its consistency from before. The scent is less pungent, lighter and still the delicious cocoa butter aroma - quite a chocolaty feel, if you don't like chocolate it can make you feel sick after a while, but it is still mainly a cocoa butter scent so it's quite pleasant.
As a moisturiser, it's ok. It gives immediate relief for my dry hands but I don't feel that it's a 'proper' moisturiser - one that hydrates deeply into the skin. It feels more like a barrier cream, although it is definitely more than that. However, this seems to wash out quite easily - after washing my hands, I often have to reapply this again, so I am sure that this doesn't nourish right down deep into the skin as I had hoped.
Cost? ****** This costs around £2.19 for a large 250ml which I think is a bargain considering that all the other moisturising cost the same but only for around 50ml.
Final Thoughts... **************** A good soother for the skin but not a true moisturiser.
Thanks for reading. xx

Advantages: Great creamy, thick texture. Good purchase price. Last along time, the smell of the product! Disadvantages: As the bottle gets towards empty it is difficult to get the last bits of cream out
