Having just come too close for comfort to a leaky poo-filled nappy with my youngest son, I felt compelled to review the brand I've been using. Not, as you might expect, to have a rant about the poor quality but to confirm that this is (thankfully) such a rare occurance with Pampers Baby Dry Nappies that they are worthy of praise indeed!
Nappy manufacturers aren't stupid people and they know that parents are likely to remain loyal to one particular brand if they are proven to be reliable and good value for money from the early days of nappy use. It is this reason (and not that they are particularly generous, kind individuals) that they bombard new parents and expectant mums-to-be with free nappy samples and money off coupons. Make sure you sign up to the Pampers baby club online to make the most of the freebies! This is a very successful marketing ploy and it certainly worked for me. I used Pampers virtually all the time with my oldest son after using the freebies and using the vouchers to get discounted nappies. (I tried Huggies early on and found them to be totally unreliable and remained loyal to Pampers ever since.)
With baby number two, I did chop and change brands a bit more as money was more of an issue. Having said that, I always found myself coming back to Pampers. The full RRP of Pampers nappies are higher than the prices charged for shops' own brand nappies but I can honestly say that I've never paid the full price for Pampers. I always stock up on multi-buy offers and buy in bulk anyway. I buy the economy size packs which, for a size 4+ nappy, contains 52 nappies. (The bigger the nappy size, the fewer nappies per pack.) The full price for the pack should be £8.99 each but I bought them on offer last week at £14 for two packs from Boots. It's not unusual to see offers like this or even a third off all nappy packs, for example. To be honest, promotional offers on Pampers seem to be getting even better and more frequent nowadays. I presume they are having to work harder to maintain their share of the market in the current economic climate.
Now that Pampers are generally as economical as other brands, I have no hesitation in recommending them, particularly the Baby Dry variety. The advertising for this type of nappy tends to focus on their benefits for overnight use and I can confirm that the nappies survive a full twelve hour night with our little one (although they are fit to burst in the morning!) Pampers seem to want to encourage parents to use their Active Fit nappies during the daytime but I don't really see the need to use a different sort of nappy. I use Baby Dry nappies day and night and, other than today's battle with a very loose poo, I never have any problems. Presumably, Pampers want us to believe that we should use a different type of nappy during the day as Active Fit are more expensive and tend to have less generous discounts!
The nappies are very generously sized and each size covers quite a wide range of sizes. The 4+ for example covers babies all the way from 20-44lbs! Exact sizing depends on your baby's shape and body size so you need to use your judgement about when to go up a size. Most shops and supermarkets are fine about you exchanging different sizes if you stock up on too many of the wrong size. The nappies themselves have stretchy sides and velcro tabs so they adjust easily to fit perfectly and stay in position no matter what your little devils get up to!
The only time I have ever had cause to complain about Baby Dry nappies was when the tabs snapped off on two nappies from the same pack. This is very unusual, so unusual in fact that I actually called the freephone helpline to let them know. I was very impressed with the response from Customer Services. They provided me with a pre-paid envelope so that I could return the faulty nappy and the packaging and even sent me a £5 voucher by way of apology. If only all companies were as responsive to customer feedback!
Having given these nappies many hundreds of uses, neither of my boys suffered from nappy rash, soreness or irritation, other than minor and infrequent occurences when they were pooing very frequently as newborn. My youngest son's bum is always as soft as, erm, a baby's bottom even after wearing a nappy all night! I can confirm that Pampers Baby Dry do, indeed, keep your baby dry all day and all night too.
Advantages: Flexible, thin, oft and protective balm, jumbo packs are good value Disadvantages: Not so good for the enviroment, small packs are expensive
...which is exclusively used by Pampers and seems to be suitabe or sensitive skin which I was worried about as my son has very severe eczema but it hasn't affected him in anyway, it seems to be quite soft too which is a bonus. One thing that seems to stand out on these nappies is the flexi tabs to fasten the nappy these are great as they are stretchy rather than fixed so great if your trying to change a wriggler or after dinner when your baby may be ... ...child ensuring a snug fit all the time, I alsolike the fact the tabs seem to be velcro like rather than sticky so they don't cling to babies skin.
So far I am very pleased with these nappies which to be honest I was quite surprised about. I would definately recommend these to someone looking for a good thin nappy for their little one to have their freedom and so far I ahven't had any leaks and my son is a VERY heavy wetter even through the night ...

Advantages: Good fit Disadvantages: Made skin red. Terrible smell when wet
Being a major leading brand of disposable nappies I expected something good quality and kind to my babies skin. Every time I put theses on my daughter and she wets them her bottom is red when I take the nappy off and she tells me her bottom is sore! My daughter is 2.5 yrs so I have tried a few brands even cheaper varieties and this is the only brand that leaves her skin red! I also find there is also a terrible sickly smell that comes from them once ...

Quick review of Pampers Baby-Dry
I am more than happy with pampers baby dry (added sleep layer).
My daughter is 2 and drinks plenty of fluids, so i need a nappy where i can be certain that it isnt going to leak during the night. And this product has not let me down once, it really does keep my daughter dry, day or night. The flexible fastening straps are great , it really does the trick the nappy is secured into its place and still gives space for full tumms, and allows your child to move freely. I have recomended this product to my freinds. The only thing that lets it down is the price.I dont think it should cost so much to keep our babys bums happy. ...

Advantages: Thin, abosrbent, does a great job, no leaks Disadvantages: Quite Expensive
I have been using PampersBabyDry since my son was around 5 months old, and I think they have let me down on just 3 occasions, which is pretty good going considering he is now 16 months old!
*Pampers*
Pampers nappies have been around since 1961, making them 46 years old. They began with pins in the sides instead of sticky tabs, which were not introduced until the 1970's. The 80's saw the biggest change of Pampers, with the nappies being made thinner, elasticated around the legs, and sticky tapes which could be moved many times without ruining the nappy, and the nappy weight was decreased by 50%. The 90's saw gender specific nappies by Pampers, pink for girls and blue for boys but Pampers returned to Unisex nappies again at the end of the decade. Pampers standards have remained the same since then, and they have kept improving ...

Advantages: easy to use, no messing around Disadvantages: not as durable as new baby ones, sizes aren't right
Since my daughter has been born, I have used pampers nappies. I found that they didn't leave nappy rashes and kept her dry when she slept over night.
Only thing i could find wrong!!
Sizes
There doesn't seem to be any middle sizes. my daughter out grew the size 3's but is too little for the size 4's, Have even tried the new flex nappies and seem to have the same problem.
The new baby nappies seem to fit better than the babydry ones.
However the new flex system seems to help with the mid-sizes, as they are flexable.
Pampers
I have tried all different nappies with my children and have always gone back to pampers. Even though you may pay a little more for them, they seem to do the best job.
Are they leak proof?
I found that the babydry nappies are near enough leak proof, with the odd leak, if there is a large mess ...

Advantages: Ok As A Back Up Nappy Disadvantages: Very Thin And They Leak
I recently bought a packet of PampersBabyDry (Flex) Nappies in Size Junior. I only bought them out of quickness as i was running low on my ordinary brand, but only had two days before my online shopping order was due, with nappies included.
I went to my local Sainsbury to get a small pack of nappies, and unfortunately they do not seem to do that many brands, so i chose pampers.
I paid £5.89 for a Carry Pack of PampersBabyDry (Flex) Size 5 Junior, 11-25kg - 24-55lbs. This carry pack contained 30 nappies.
They are unisex nappies. Each nappy has a nice picture of an animal or bear on the front of it. They are made with Flex velcro tape so it stretches further and is easy to seal and un seal. Unfortunately, compared to my usual brand, these nappies are very thin and liquid absorbs into the nappy quickly, but it does not hold much ...

Your baby's tummy stays quite busy at night. hi fact, it can shrink up to 3cm as she digests dinner, breathes id moves ound in her sleep. And that can me one gappy nappy. Thats why we created Caterpillar Flex. Our nappy flexes out id right back for no gaps o leaks. So no matter how busy your baby's tummy get's her sleep stays undisturbed. The same dryness of Pamper Baby-Dry-now with Caterpillers Flex. It moves with baby's tummy.meaning no messy leaks.
