~What are Pampers Change Mats?~
They are absorbent disposable mats for use when making nappy changes on the go. They have a plastic covering to protect the baby from any dirty surfaces as well as an absorbent, soft reverse side to lay the baby on and catch any leaks. They are very thin and can be easily folded up very small to take with you when you are on the go.

We had just bought a brand new bed and I was worried that my waters would break whilst in bed and the bed would be ruined. A friend recommended these as something I could use even after the baby was born. I usually research about every item I buy for the first time. However, for this one I didn't and just took her recommendation. I am glad that I did!

~ What Are Their Different Uses?~
1- They are first and foremost a disposable changing mat. They provide a clean surface to change baby on no matter where you are. They are thin and fold up very small. This is great when I know I will be out for a short while. I pack a reusable freezer bag with a nappy, change mat, nappy bag and a onesie for an emergency. This all fits easily into my handbag for quick get aways. I have always reused the mat if it is not wet. So, unless your baby has been a right mess or the surface you lay him/her on is a mess, they can be used over and over again. 2- Placed under the sheet in your little one's cot will protect the mattress from any of those late night leaks. As your baby sleeps longer and longer at night, it is bound to happen. It is better to be safe than sorry! 3- Great to use while potty training. They can be easily laid into car seat or pushchair to protect it in case there is an emergency! 4- You can place them under your own sheets if you are pregnant and, like me, worried that your waters will break or leak and ruin your bed. My water's didn't break while I was in bed, however, it did give me that extra peace of mind that I needed when I had so many other things to worry about.
~ My Experience~
I first bought them to protect my bed. I was worried they would be like those plastic sheets and be all cold and make lots of "crinkly" sounds. I just could not bare to have that. I ended up using 2 mats to cover a good portion of my side of the bed. That night when I went to bed, I honestly forgot that I had put them on the bed. I would forget until it was time to change the sheets and then I would remember. They could not be felt through the sheet at all! I was impressed by this. My waters did not break while I was in bed. So, I can't testify to how absorbant they would be for such things. But, I did have peace of mind with them on.
Now, I use them with my little one. I pack one away in my handbag and away we go. Even the cleanest of changing areas leave me a bit wary. I want to be SURE that my baby has a clean surface to lay down on. I wouldn't want to just lay on the counter top and I don't expect my baby to. It unfolds easily and easily stores away. If it gets wet or dirty, I just throw it in the bin. No problem!
I have one under the sheets of my little boy's cot. He has had only one major late night leak and I was pleased to see that the Pampers Change Mat kept the bed well protected. Again, like when I had it on my bed, there is no uncomfortable "crinkly" noise to wake the baby when he moves.
~ Size and Cost ~
The mats are 60 x 60 cm. Plenty big enough for newborns to toddlers. They come in packs of 12 and cost approximately £5 for the pack. That does sound a bit pricey. However, I have been having the back for 6 months now and still have 10 left! ~ Overall Conclusion ~
I was a bit worried about buying them and their cost. However, I have been very pleased with the purchase. It is very versatile and provides a lot of peace of mind. That is important for a new mum. I have and will continue to recommend this product.
...night-time accident led me to Pampers Bed Mats. Pampers have two similar sorts of products here – Change Mats and Bed Mats. The main difference is the size – the Change Mats are small enough to be put in your bag (square 60cm x 60cm) and carried around for baby changes. The Bed Mats are that much larger and have “bed wings” to allow you to secure the mat on the bed. These were what we were after.
The reason we opted for this type of product was ... ...-Quantity and dimensions-
Pampers Bed Mats currently come in packs of 7. Each mat is 80cm wide by 90cm long.
They are folded in four in the pack. They are not individually wrapped.
-Appearance-
Resembling a small cot sheet when open, one side is plastic coated to prevent moisture from going through to the mattress. The top side has a diamond quilted central panel to wick moisture away from the child. There are clear instructions on the waterproof ...

Advantages: Disposable, protects my bed when changing baby Disadvantages: expensive
Previously called Care Mats, Pampers Change Mats are disposable absorbant waterproof mats with a white soft top and a lilac coloured plasticy underside. The Change Mats are 60 x 60 cm and come in packs of 12. The current cost is £5.99 per pack (checked with both Boots and Tesco).
They are designed mainly to put under your baby when changing napppies but can also be used for putting under a potty when potty training, to protect your furniture when ... ...on my bed with a Pampers mat underneath and that's what we've done ever since. I definitely couldn't have done without them and it makes changing very quick and easy. When she was little I would need a new mat every 3-4 changes as she would inevitably mess on it but now that she's older I can go literally weeks without having to use a new one. Sometimes I need a new one as with use the old one sometimes starts to fluff a bit but that is the only ...

Advantages: quick and easy, light Disadvantages: expenisive, don't last as long as they say
When I registered with the pampers website I was sent some vouchers for nappies and also for a pack of care mats. The voucher entitled me to 50p off a pack of twelve care mats. The price of the care mats put me off a bit but the a mixture of the voucher and also the fact that pampers claim that they are reusable upto 100 changes made me buy them.

Advantages: a little protection Disadvantages: exepensive and rubbish for babies
I brought a packet of pampers care mats when I was booked in to the hospital to have my baby 6 weeks ago. The reason I got these was to protect my bed when I was bleeding after the birth.
The changing mats are square in shape and the top of the mat is slightly padded with diagonal shapes. the back of the mats have some blue writing saying pampers change mats place this side down and various coloured pitchers. The size of each mat is 60 x 60 cm.
... ...and says change mats underneath in white writing on an orange back round. There’s a pitcher of a woman changing a baby on a changing mat with yellow flowers in the back round. So it’s quite an eye catching packet. The back of the packet has some pitches showing some suggestions for use they are:
Nappy changing at home.
Sitting a toddler on the couch without a nappy.
Changing a nappy in the car.
Using the mats when you wind a baby.
A mat on the ...

Advantages: Soft; small to carry around Disadvantages: Quite thin; pricey
Pampers Change Mats are 60 x 60 cms in size. The side that is placed next to the surface is made from plastic and will, therefore, prevent any leaks from going through the mat. The side on which you place baby is soft and slightly padded. To be honest, I'm not sure if the mats would slide around or move, particularly if baby was wriggling / kicking.
The change mats are very thin. Personally, I see this as being both a good and a bad point. The advantage ... ...and are ideal for packing into baby's changing bag.
The disdavantage is that the mats would not give too much protection for baby when placing him / her onto a harder surface. The size of the mats are ideal for babies, particularly when they are young, although two mats would be needed when changing an older baby, as one mat would not be long enough. Luckily, my baby has not had any accidents on a change mat yet, so I have been able to re-use them. ...
