Having used Pampers through-out my toddlers life. Although I did have a short span of using Huggies but they leaked.
The reason for this is that I thought they would be easy to get off and on him. While they are easy to pull up and down as their name suggests, one thing I hadn't thought of is unlike nappies where you can slide down trousers and do a quick nappy change and away you go. With the easy up pants the trousers have to come off as with shoes and when you are out and about it does create a problem.
The reason I stayed with Pull ups is to try to get my toddler to lie down whilst putting his clean nappy on was making me crawl up the wall, he used to twist and turn and try to get away, his legs would be kicking, I would end up with 2 black eyes!
So it was easier to tell him what a big boy he was to stand and put big boys pants on. Despite the stress of removing all his clothes it was somewhat easier than changing a 3 foot wrigling catapillar!
I have found that my local Somerfield have the nappies on offer a lot of the time and buy them when for a pack of 48 size 5 come in at 2 for £15.00. Not cheap but (I know some out there will tut) but I would pay anything not to use terry nappies!!!
Pull ups are great but are definately not for night time usage as they are a potty training pant and to be used as so.
They do not hold a great deal of fluid and I suppose are not meant to, it's just there as a back up for the little mistakes they make.
I have used them at night and every time they have leaked.
Just recently I have switched my night time nappies I now use Somerfields own nappy and they are really good for night time. Although bulky they haven't leaked as yet and for a night time nappy that is all that matters. They do have elasticated sticky straps so they do allow for movement. They were a lot cheaper than Pampers and I wish I had tried them before, as my little boy is now 3.
I would encourage you to try your supermarket brand, or even borrow one from a friend to see if they are any good, it would save a fortune.
I like the pull ups because (if you get the correct size) they are nice and slim and don't have the bulk. Like pampers active they are very flexible and give you a confidence that you are making your child as comfortable as possible in a nappy. One day they may put us in a nappy I would hope they would repay the thought! lol.
The best nappy I have used for my little boy was pampers active as well as being quite absorbant they lock the wetness away and as the name would suggest allowed my little one freedom of movement and the nappy allowed that perfectly.
I would recommend pampers pull ups but only as a potty training aid. It helps them to be encouraged to be a big boy or girl and to start to understand the pants up and down procedure. It also triggers you to be ready for the potty training and to be able to relax about it when it comes. So many of my friends stressed about it but I used the easy up pants encouraged him to have a go with them, and while on a 2 week holiday put underpants on him tiled floors wont ruin and shorts are easier to rinse and wash than jeans. He was trained by the first week - clever boy.

We've discovered that these are no good for skinny children. Eventhough we used 1/2 size smaller than our usual Pampers nappy size, it just wouldn't stay up! Cx

I found these great for toilet training and it took the pressure off at night times with no wet clothes and sheets to change as my son was a bad enough sleeper anyway. Belinda
