Advantages Creates independence with little mess

Disadvantages A bit pricey

I like to try new things... I also like to try new ideas... So when Pampers brought out new KanDoo wipes for children at toilet time I thought I would give them a go – well I thought I would ask my little 3-year-old, Charlie, to give them a go.

Now Charlie is totally toilet trained as you would expect from most 3-year-olds but when it came to the “big” toilet he didn’t really like getting his hands dirty so to speak. I realised that what with him starting nursery – he wouldn’t always have someone around to help him out as it were. He always used regular toilet tissue but would always end up with one small piece or the whole roll – there was never really any middle ground. So I thought that these KanDoowipes could be the answer to our problem.

When I approached him about the product he seemed really keen – he also liked the fact that they were just for him and not for Mummy and Daddy – although I am sure that Daddy has been using them but I cannot prove it and I don’t really want to!

Packaging

Charlie loved the packaging – I think that most kids would. The box is small in comparison to normal baby wipes but it comes in a plastic box, which is purple and bright green. Sounds nasty but it is quite pleasing on the eye. There is green base where you can insert the refill and it has a small green button that you press to pop open the lid for easy access to the wipes. It really is easy though – they have realised that the kids are their market and it has to be able to be opened by the kids or else what is the point? It just pops up with no effort at all and pops back down without a huge amount of pressure.

The picture on the front of the box of the little frog but as cute as he is you cant get away from the fact that the frog is wiping his bum – hey it sound bad but it works because Charlie always says that he is like the frog now and being a good boy.

Price

£2.79 for one box. The refills can be purchased and I have managed to get these as cheap at £1.50 on special offer at Morrisons or £2.19 at Asda. The box contains 60 wipes, this may seem expensive for the amount you get but you have to work out that normally one wipe does the job (as it were) so you do get a lot of uses.

I pay £2.35 for normal wipes and they have 72 in but they are a lot bigger and look more out of place in the bathroom than these do. Normal wipe do not flish either. Also remember they have the picture of the frog and as Charlie reminds me, that is the really good thing about them.

So what are they like?

Well when you first pop them open out comes a little wipe and I mean little but don’t let the size fool you – unlike other things in life this is one thing that can be smaller. It has a fragrance that is really nice. To me it just smells fresh and clean like most wipes but not over powering in anyway.

It was moist but not too wet – Charlie had no problem using these at all without going into too much detail.

What makes these wipes perfect though is that they flush. Ordinary Wipes do not. That doesn’t mean that you should flush 20 wipes at once just to see if I am telling the truth – the recommend no more than 5 at a time.

Just seems like a con to me. Yet another way for a big company to squeeze money out of us for something we don't need.... but I'm glad you found them useful and this was a good opinion. Jo x
