I am a sucker for new gadgets and gizmos and when I first saw the tv advert for kandoo my daughter was so mesmerised that I decided that I would give them a go.

Don't get me wrong - she can go to the loo all by herself but occasionally gets very lazy and there is nothing worse when you have just sat down with a nice cuppa when you get the shout - "mum - come and wipe my bum".

Off we set up the local high street - first stop our local 'Bodycare' shop (this is a great shop for all your brand name toiletries at great prices). There my little one takes off down the shop and lifts her little purple and green box and proudly shouts "i kandoo it too - can you". With alot of strange looks we set off to the checkout. A purple plastic box with a lime green flip up lid and a removable lime green base cost us £1.99(complete with a packet of 60 wipes). A refil packet of 60 wipes are available to buy for £1.49.

Once home she could not wait to use them - the only problem being for the first couple of days whenever she went to the loo she sat and grunted and squeezed until she produced something just so that she could use them.

The wipes themselves are fairly thick, 60 in a pack, slight apple scented, moist but not too moist, brightly coloured packaging (so theres no excuse not to notice them), the plastic container is easy to open and not forgetting the nice little picture of a frog wiping his bottom on the sides.

The only thing being the manufacturers reckon on using no more than 5 at a time for fear of blocking the loo when flushing. I also do not know how they would do with a sensitive bottom or causing a rash as we've never had that problem. Also there is no mention on the packaging that I have as to whether the wipes are dermatologically tested, tested on animals or lanolin free.

Once I had to shop for more I was astonished at the price that boots, tesco, superdrug charged for the same products. The initial tubs ranged up to about £2.99 and the refil packet were approx £1.99 so unless you have a Bodycare or similar it can work out expensive.

The products are definitely a good idea - it makes the children feel more independent and a packet usually lasts about 2 weeks.

No, I haven't got kids but I love to use these myself! They keep you fresh and clean. I find they're a lot less harsh than rough toilet paper, and they smell great. Excellent Op.
