Hi!

I had Pampers used on me, so the first pack of nappies I bought when I was pregnant were Pampers New Baby.

PRICE
******

All of Pampers nappies are around £5.65 per pack regardless of the size. Instead of the price changing as the baby gets older and needs bigger nappies, you just get less in each pack, this rule applies to the more "luxury" types such as Active Fit and Easy Up Pants. Below are a few examples:

£5.65 for:

36 Newborn "New Baby"
26 Size 4 "Active Fit"
22 size 4 "Easy up Pants"

Sizes
*******

All babies need nappies for atleast 18 months, many even longer, so it is important to keep them comfy. Pa,pers grade their nappies by the weight of the baby. Each catagory has a number eg:

*baby dry*
these work out the cheapest,

6-13lb (3-6kg) Mini (size 2)
9-20lb (4-9kg) Midi (size 3)
15-40lb (7-18kg) Maxi (size 4)
20-44lb (9-20kg) Maxi Plus (size 4+)
24-55lb (11-25kg) Junior (size 5)
35+lb (16+kg) Extra Large (size 6)

*special*
3-6lb Premie

*sensitive*
for those baby's with poorly sore bums
6-13lb (3-6kg) Mini (size 2)
9-20lb (4-9kg) Midi (size 3)
15-40lb (7-18kg) Maxi (size 4)
24-55lb (11-25kg) Junior (size 5)

*newborn*
4-11lb (2-5kg) Newborn 1
6-13lb (3-6kg) Newborn 2

*active fit*
9-20lb (4-9kg) Midi (size 3)
15-44lb(7-20kg) Maxi (size 4)
24-55lb(11-25kg) Junior (size 5)

*easy up pants*
18-33lb (8-15kg) Maxi (size 4)
26-40lb (12-18kg) Junior (size 5)
35+lb (16+kg) Extra Large (size 6)

As you have probably now noticed, some of the sizes vary and not all designs are avaliable in all sizes and Maxi Plus (4+) is only avaliable in Baby Dry.

HOW ABSORBANT ARE PAMPERS?
**************************

I like many mothers have found Pampers excellent for absorbing wee and poo (new baby nappies have special little holes to let the soft poo through) sometimes after my son has drank god knows how much pop and milk all day and then had a nappy on for 10 hours through the night, you can imagine how wet he is in the morning. His nappy is always really squidgy where the wee has turned to gel. This may feel and sound disgusting! the nappy may be soaked but, and yes there always is a but! his skin is always dry.

I have only ever experienced one or two leaks in my time with using pampers and they were probably down to me putting the nappy on back to front or something!

PREEMIE
*******

I have only ever seen these once in Mothercare, they aren't advertised on their website. All I know about these is that they are for very premature babies and I think hospitals use them? - Sorry for the lack of info on these, i will try to find out some more!

BABY DRY
********

Baby dry are the first Pampers that came out and are designed as a basic nappy. They are white (with a picture waistband), and a bit boring! (no stretchy elastic to pull etc) The advantage of these is that they are the cheapest nappies that Pampers make.

SENSITIVE
**************

Designed for babies with poorly, sensitive or recovering skin.

When my little boy had thrush on his bum, he needed special care, so I bought him Pampers Sensitive nappies and they are so soft and they started to help his bum heal.

Sensitive are made of this special material which makes the nappy really breathable. they are also coated with Dermaprotect, even on the elastic around the leg to minimise the risk of skin irritation.

Personally I found that these weren't as absorbant as the normal nappies but you cant have everything in one can you? (it would be alright if you could!)

ACTIVE FIT
**********

Active fit nappies are designed to make your little one more comfy whilst on the move, they have elastic straps to help the nappy keep snug. I have used these for my baby and although you get fewer in a pack, they are lovely for your baby!

They are claimed to be the stretchiest nappy in britain and i really can believe it!

EASY UP PANTS
**************

These really are designed for the older children who either dont like wearing nappies or are being toilet trained. they are covered in elephants front and back! you can rip the sides very easily to make it easier to get them off. they also have a built on tape to roll the nappy up when soiled. The only disadvantage is the price again... Size 4 you get 22 for £5.65

DEALS
*****

Pampers often do deals for bulk buys, these usually are sold in places like supermarkets where you can buy a box of 2 or three packs of nappies at a discounted price.

You can also become a member of Pampers and receive lots of money off vouchers through the post. You can become a member by registering online.

OVERALL
*********

I have used other brands in the past in emergencies such as Huggies and have found them completley useless compared to Pampers. I know they are a little bit on the expensive side but they really are worth every penny!

Sometimes, people complain that nappies are too tight on their baby, even tgough they are in the right weight catagory, to overcome this problem, regardless of what the label says on the packet, move up one size, all babies are different shapes you know!

I would reccommend Pampers to anyone with children in nappies.

These are Excellent!!!

I find Pampers worse than useless and so I use supermarkets own when I can't get Huggies, great op though it all depends on the child I think! Amanda
