If you've read my review of Motherease reusable nappies you'll know that I switched to re-usables when my son was about three months old. But to start with we used these Pampers New Baby, and though the cost a penny or two more than the equivalent size in Baby Dry, they are specially designed for little babies and I really found the extra was worth paying.

Well to start with they are really easy to fit - they have lovely stretchy legs and feel soft. With the delicate skin of a new born that's excellent - they don't leave any red marks yet they are effective at preventing leaks. The tapes have loads of give on them, so even if you are an incompetent first time father changing your first nappy, you won't get it wrong.
The really great thing about them though is that they are designed to absorb runny, new baby poo. And this they do really really well. Newborns don't wee in the quantities that an older baby does, so you don't need ridiculous amounts of capacity there, but you do need to mop up the squidgy mustard -coloured stuff (those of you who have breast fed, especially will know what I'm talking about). Somehow they do this. and it works. No leaks (before these were invented I remember my oldest son exploding one down his leg and all over grandma's sofa...). Seriously No leaks. not a single one in three months!
They are shaped well to fit scrunched up tots and come in three sizes. This is my only complaint, my son was 9lb 8oz at birth and we never used size one. Size two lasted us about 6 weeks and then onyl size three. Sadly he grew out of size three (maxi) before I really wanted to change the nappy we were using. A size three/ maxi plus for huge great heffalump babies would be fantastic!
Price wise, Baby Dry minis cost around 11p a nappy (depending where you shop), and New Born mini cost around 15p, so it is more expensive , but in my view it's only for a few weeks and those first few weeks with a new baby are tough enough without poo all over your clothes!
Advantages: soft, holds a lot, readily available Disadvantages: leak!
...you see adverts made by Pampers they always rave about how comfortable they are and how well they fit and are leak proof but I don't think that this is entirely true.
Pampers New Baby are the smallest sized nappy Pampers make which are readily available. They are for babies sized 4-11lbs but I would dispute that! My baby was 6lb when born and the nappy completely covered her, it was so big it had to be folded in half and still looked far too big ... ...side of things. Pampers are readily available in so many shops, supermarkets, baby stores, chemists and online. They vary in price depending upon the place and the offer. They come in packs of 28 and 54. A packet of 54 retail at £6.99 from Boots. I think that they are quite good value for money as they do cost similar to that of HUggies which is probably their biggest rival. It just frustrates me though that they can charge high amounts compared ...

...brands now and I think Pampers are the best by a mile and I intend to carry on using pampers as my baby gets older. I don't think nappies are something you can try and skimp on & pampers may be a little more than other brands but I think they are well worth it. A pack of 54 of these is around £7 from various supermarkets but if you keep your eye out as they also get put on offer quite a lot in boots (pack of 27 £3.99 buy one get one free) and supermarkets ...

...to try.
I used the Pampers for a couple of weeks and found that they did not fit around the legs very snug. Her poo came out the sides and around the legs, poor little thing! It was very frustrating to keep changing a newborns clothes, especially as she hates it, so often. Although maybe slightly cheaper than the Huggies, they were so disappointing. Even the supermarkets own nappies (which were half the price) were superior to these. Maybe it's ...

Advantages: they do absorb runny poo Disadvantages: sizing didnt seem right
I have used pampers new baby for the first few weeks of all three of my children's lives.
I did find they did what they said they do they do absorb runny poo and I found that they coped with the amount my babies pooed.
I found that with all three of my children at some point the nappies where on special offer so they did work out cheaper than other brands
One thing I did find with these nappies was that I always had to go up in size long before ... ...they go up to.
I also found to start with I had to fold down the top of nappy because of babies cord maybe a newborn nappy with a hole for the cord would be good Over all I do like these's nappies and I thought the price was average compared with other nappies ...

Advantages: Good quality, Secure Disadvantages: Cost
I started off using PampersNewBaby nappies when my daughter was born, mainly because these nappies were provided free in the Bounty newbaby hospital bag.
Overall, I was really pleased with these nappies. They fitted well and stopped most leaks. The only, occasional, leaks I tended to experience with my baby were the overnight nappies.
The inside of the nappies are lovely and soft, absorbing moisture well. The sides are elasticated well to fit snugly.
I did decide to swap to 'Huggies' nappies, as my daughter was only 5lbs 14 oz and the huggies nappies seemed slightly smaller than the pampers. My choice to swap had nothing to do with the performance or quality of the pampers.
Although pampers nappies are not the cheapest brand, I would recommend them for an 'average' or larger sized newborn baby, as they were a good quality ...
Advantages: great value for money Disadvantages: none that i know of
These packets of nappies are great value for money. Having not long had my little girl we go through alot of nappies as you can imagine with a new born.
pampersnewbaby nappies are great they are in a packet of 28 nappies and i paid £2.99 for this packet in wilkinsons.
They are very absorbant and are great for holding all that nasty stuff in.No leaks.
With my other children i found that the tags that i used to do the nappies up some of them wouldnt stick if i had a little baby oil on my hands but these nappies are good as the tags are like velcro and will stick no matter what you have on your hands when you do them up.
All in all great value for money as so many nappies are needed when they are new born. ...

Advantages: disposable well known brand Disadvantages: harsh on babies bottom..For me an awful nappy
I first used pampers nappies 15 years ago when i had my daughter and was pleased with the package i paid for.Yes they were the more expensive brand at the time but you knew what you were getting when you purchased them. They were the "gold " of the nappy variety back then..Soft to the touch very absorbant easy for the baby to wear.
So i thought this time round when i had my son 5 months ago i thought i would go for the same product i trusted all those years ago.
In a nut shell i wish i hadn't bothered admittedly they haven't gone up to much in price over the years but i am appalled at how they have gone in terms of there reliability.
I bought about 5 packs of Pampers to get me by with my new arrival.
I was like a child in a sweety shop as i opened my new pack of nappies ( sad i know ) here i was anticipating the soft luxurious ...
