The A100 has a 10 megapixel CCD sensor and a 3 x Optical Zoom (with an additional 5.7 x Digital Zoom) with a nice big 2.7inch LCD screen on the back. All menus appear on the screen and are easy to read, use and navigate. There is no optical viewfinder ? which may be a consideration for some people.
The features include Face-Detection (up to 6 faces), which optimizes focus and exposure for the areas of the image that it recognises as a human face, a digital Anti-Blur mode (not to be confused with a true Image Stabilizer) and manual control over sensitivity (ISO), exposure compensation and white balance if required.

FEATURES AND USAGE.
The Sony Alpha A100 has a 10.2 Megapixel CCD, which is the same as the Canon EOS 400D, Olympus E410 and others. This model, like the others listed is an entry level Digital SLR, but that shouldn?t be viewed negatively.
The lenses are easy to change, and come with caps to protect them from dust and scratching. They simply screw on and lock into place, or by pressing a little release button, they unscrew accordingly.

At first glance the sony alpha a100 feals slightyly plastickly, but this is partly due to the fact that the body itself is made out of plastic, never the less the sony a100 is a fantastic digital sslr for the first time photograhper.
Although it is slightly dissapointing that sony has not made a vertical grip for this product, overall the smooth shiny feal to the sony alpha a100, feals nice, and the shutter button fits snugguly into your right hand, however the camera is exceptional, but the custumer service is dreadful, when i accidently smashed my sony alpha 3 days after purchasing it, i was devistated, but not to worry, i was soon on to sony, and was relieved that there was a set price of £114 but i had to forck out a lumply sum of £360 to get it fixed.
There isnt realy a fixed price and the level of custumer service ...
