a fantastic purchase!
I bought this camera as a cheaper alternative to an SLR and was very pleasantly surprised. The lens and anti-shake feature was excellent and tested thoroughly on an african safari. My shots were excellent and the 12x zoom paid for itself with the wonderful close-ups I got of the animals.
The anti-shake mechanism is great, especially when using the lens' full zoom capacity. Pictures are sharp and clear with great colour. It's also incredibly easy to use, looks good and has some fantasic features. You'll hardly need a flash either.
One word of advice though: buy a spare battery as the long-life critters can take a while to charge and are difficult to get abroad. A good case is also a positive investment as it doesn't come with one. I found a nice one on ebay for a fraction of the cost of the shops.
