Checking out new cameras as been one of my main hobbies and i just love them to be checked out, Lately i came across The Panasonic Lumix DMC- G1 , Pointing out the features and Performance that i have come along with this Camera here with,
The very first thing that comes to my mind about the DMC-G1 is that the 12 megapixel shooter is that its just surprisingly fast which produces some awesome images with a great feature of having interchangeable lens support. It has an LCD which can been flipped and twisted as the way the user likes to.It has a solid construction and have some great controls. Many will find ease in using the Electronic view finder, but professionals will find that it has a frustrating experience. The G1 is a entry level less expensive camera. The G1 also has an onscreen quick menu which help us in accessing the settings form the centre location, another feature is that If you don't want to use the full onscreen display, you can also set the camera to display the settings around the edges of the screen and cycle around them that way.The G1 has a host of manual and semi manual ,features for an entry level user. The G1 offers a considerable number of direct-access button and dial shooting controls. The LCD screen is wonderful, you wont be able to display the settings on the LCD while we view the scenes through the Electronic View Finder. The One of the greatest drawbacks i felt about this camera is that it does not have a Movie Camera . You will really be astonished by the speed in the way the G1 takes pictures, It just gets better and better with every shot.Panasonic G1 offers a convertor which allows you to mount the standard four third lenses, there is also a mode which allows us to preview the changes in settings to gauge the preview of the effects. The shutter speed effect shows the effect by a simple refresh taking the LCD to blank and the preview takes somewhat a much bigger time ,The G1 is equipped with a large SD card of atleast 20MB/ Sec, The electronic view finder blanks off ,The G1 fails in producing exact accurate colors, The noise has been considerably reduced and will not create a buzz about it for the user, Its a large sized camera and handling it will be a task, and it wont fit even your large pocket, but if you would like to go for this model, i dont recommend it since the main drawback is that it does not have a Movie Camera, As of the bottom line i would summarise it as The Panasonic Lumix DMC G1 is that camera where you will feel a love for its speed, image quality, the flipped LCD, and also for the interchangeable lens facility. The negatives i felt was that , No movie camera the biggest and the most to be noted, and the heavy size which had to bear with us carrying it around, but for the price is it worth ... try other options and decide.

I needed to read the review a couple of times due to the lack of paragraphs & lack of formatting. There seems to be quite a lot of useful information there but it just needs re-organising a little. I agree with comments on movie feature i.e. if you want this sort of thing you would be better off with something like the TZ5. Good try .. look forward to seeing more.

This form of camera has to be used for at least 6 months, before feeling comfortable with it. I had a Nikon Proffessional FE before this one, and still had a lot of learning about its character before understanding this one. It is lighter than my Nikon FE, it has many more advances too. Your review is sort of good, but it needs lots more tech. info about it really.....good try though. Elinor.

I have to agree with comment mentioned a few paragraphs would have made it easier to read as all bit too cramped up. The DMC-G1 is based on DSLR cameras really so compared to likes of other DSLR cameras its actually the smallest out to date so its far and it weighs the less compared to any other models out. The movie mode feature i find really a gimmick personally on any camera having owned a Panasonic TZ5 and now a Nikon D90 both with HD movie mode i used them under 5 mins in total so i dont see much use in them myself that is but each there own i suppose. Just thought id point out reason for my low score ...Sorry
