The DMP-BD30 is half the price of its predecessor (the original Blu-ray player - BDP-10A was £700). This makes the upscaling to Blu-ray far more appealing and many people will buy this product and invest in Blu-rays. Nevertheless, the question still remains, why don't people buy PS3s which can play Blu-rays as well as HD games and a lot more? Well, the PS3 cannot upscale non-Blu-ray DVDs as well as the DMP-BD30 and the audio functionality is very ... ...capable of playing Blu-ray.

This makes the upscaling to Blu-ray far more appealing and many people will buy this product and invest in Blu-rays. Nevertheless, the question still remains, why don't people buy PS3s which can play Blu-rays as well as HD games and a lot more? Well, the PS3 cannot upscale non-Blu-ray DVDs as well as the DMP-BD30 and the audio functionality is very complicated on the PS3. Overall however, the PS3 is very capable of playing Blu-ray.
Appearance
The DMP-BD30 is very sleek, smooth and stylish piece of equipment. The black colour works well with most living rooms. The remote control also looks stunning with many buttons - most of which you will probably never use.
Price
As I have already mentioned, this Blu-ray player is half the price of the original Blu-ray player although it is still a bit pricey at £300. I would recommend waiting a few months for the price to come down and then invest. It is certainly worth a purchase at some point because in the future, Blu-ray will probably take over DVDs.
Reliability
As far as I am aware, this product is very reliable and doesn't seem to break easily - although it is relatively new so there hasn't been time for too many complaints.
Quality
There really is a super transition between DVD and Blu-ray - Blu-ray is extremely clear and the audio quality is stunning. Perfect for large TVs where quality is usually lost with size.
Conclusion
Overall, this is great buy, although it might be an idea to wait for the price to come down. This product is sleek and stylish and is a great addition to any living room.
Advantages: Fantastic picture, sound and at a pretty good price. Disadvantages: Price can vary. You'll never want to leave your sofa and so any work!

There was now only one choice - Blu-Ray. Great if you owned a Playstation 3. Sore news if you'd invested in a HD-DVD player - they were now dropping in price faster than you could blink, with Game and Gamestation flogging the X-Box 360 attachment for around £20-£30 a time.
The PanasonicDMP-BD 80 EG is a little piece of magic

Panasonic are thought of by many as the kings of Blu-Ray manufacturers. They produce high-quality, admittedly not always cheap Blu-Ray players with an emphasis on great picture and sound quality.
The 80 EG keeps with this tradition admirably. It ...
