...buying a good machine from panasonic with them being a good make. I am overall very dissapointed in the machine because of the fact that it doesnt work and has been taken back.
Now i must admit tha i bought it because of its features, it houses an in built freeview tuner meaning you can record freeview channels onto DVD which is great. It is a bit basic with its features other than the freeview, as that was the only reason i bought ... ...something you cannot watch another channel and when the digital switchover happens it would mean you couldnt watch tv because it only has a single tuner.I got around this by having Sky put in which is great. But now that i have taken it back i have had to fork out an extra £100 for a Sky+ box, and the original is only 6 months old.

What a machine. I have never had so many problems with a single machine like this one has caused me.
Well i bought this back in April last year from John Lewis as you get a free 3 year warranty as standard, and boy did i need it. It started going wrong a couple of months ago when i froze all the time and only recorded BBC1! And has had several problems over the time i have had it, it has driven me mad and has gone back to John Lewis and they are repairing it. I thought i was buying a good machine from panasonic with them being a good make. I am overall very dissapointed in the machine because of the fact that it doesnt work and has been taken back.

The player looks nice and is quite stylish with a black front and the rest is all silver. The remote is good to as some remotes nowadays are ugly things wheres this remote matches the machine n being stylish with a futuristic click wheel for guiding through the menu's. It also has phono outputs for connecting the DVD recorder to your home cinema system or HI-FI etc. The recorded picture quality is OK, not the best i have seen but perfectly adaquate for day to day use.
Overall I would not reccomend this DVD recorded to others, it is prone to break down to the point that you are forced to buy a new one. A real let down for Panasonic, i guess its just going to be Sony from now on.

Advantages: Records FreeView Channels and still watch Freeview on your set top box or Cable Disadvantages: Its not one of the smallest DVD recorder or Player ever made
The Panasonic DVD recorder is easy to set up. It took about 5 minutes to get it up and running which is great for those people who have problems setting up electronic equipment. I brought this model of DVD recorder was because it allowed you to record from freeview, and watch another freeview channel, as I always had to watch the same channel that I was recording but now this is a thing of a past. I find basic operation is simple to use. But I would say that the menus could do with being more simplified. So if you are scared of computers this may not be the one for you.
I brought this DVD recorder to replace an old panasonic VCR. I found the transistion from panasonic DVD recorder from VCR very easy as all the programing is done the same. I do like the guide button. You press this button and you get a 5 day guide of all of what in ...
