Advantages: picture quality, styling, small size Disadvantages: remote control, front panel display
...In my opinion, the best looking DVD player on the market. The picture quality is as to be expected from Panasonic, brilliant. Simple to use, even our three year old can manage it. Setup is even simpler, with most of the default settings working just fine. We use the SCART socket to connect to our TV for Dolby Pro-Logic sound via the TV, not as good as full Dolby 5.1, but not a bad second. Also has optical output for connection to the matching decoder/receiver (which we haven't got yet).
The minus points? The remote control seems to be fussy, you need to get your aim right. And the front panel display is only readable from about 3 feet (or closer), but the on-screen display is good and unobtrusive.
We had ours "upgraded" to multi-region at our local independent store....

Advantages: Looks great, excellent player, good quality Disadvantages: Additional features are over-rated
...I am now the proud owner of a PanasonicXV10DVD player which I recently picked up from Martin Dawes for absolutely zilch.
We’ve rented our TV and Video for the last few years from Martin Dawes. £30 a month provides a high spec digital combination and the ability to upgrade at regular intervals without any hassle.
I called into their shop in Shrewsbury the other week on the off chance that there may be some offers on, but was told by the very helpful assistant that the Panasonic TV/Video package we were renting was the equal of anything that they currently had in stock and to change would mean either a higher rental or a lower specification albeit on a newer model.
He asked me why I wanted to change and I told him that I quite fancied a DVD player and had noticed that the current packages had one included. “No problem...

Advantages: VERY neat, most impressive little DVD player I've ever used... (read on in review, theres too much to say.) Disadvantages: not brilliant base, especially at full volume(but normally I use headphones or if plugged into TV then its tv speakers that r used anyway), Battery hasn't got the longest life but it just clips on so its easy to have more than 1(easy to find on e-bay)
...never noticed it skip or jump, and use it as a CD player in my room, it has just been connected to a couple of speekers which produces brilliant sound quality and as I have a lot of my music on my PC it is very easy to transfer it onto an SD card and and use the dvd player as an MP3 player.
In conclution I would highly recomend this portable DVD player if you have anything else that uses SD cards, if not then I would recomend the Panasonic DVDLV50 or as its called here the Panasonic DVDLS5EBS which is basicly the same but has no SD card reader and doesn't look quite as good but it may be better suted to your needs....
