The Panasonic VDR-D100B is a DVD video camera with the world's most powerful 30x optical zoom, multi-format recording DVD-RAM/-RW/-R, and Super Image Stabilizer. The VDR-D100B boasts the Super Image Stabilizer (S.I.S) system, which compensates for the effect of handshake as you shoot movie and still images - resulting in clear, sharp images. Gyro sensors detect the amount and direction of handshake and linear motors optically adjust the lenses as needed to compensate. Through the continuing pursuit of operating ease, Panasonic has added a wide range of user-friendly functions and improvements to the DVD digital video camera range.

Advantages: superb image stabelisation, truly simple to use, excellent results

...This isn’t the first video camera we have had; it is a replacement for a 15 year old Panasonic (which still works by the way) which weighs 10 times as much and is probably 10 times as big and uses the record onto videocassette method of storage! We waited quite a while before buying a new one mainly so the prices would come down so allowing us to buy a decently outfitted video cam. We have had this a few months now and are very pleased with it. We have just returned from a few days away (yes... we really did manage to pick a very weathery few days too) and took this away with us. The Panasonic VDR-D220 is a very good unit. It is small light and compact. Weighing in at 510 g, it is 9.1 cm high x 6.7 cm wide and 14.3 cm deep. It is a widescreen palm video camcorder with image stabilisation. New breed of camcorder
Review of Panasonic VDR D150B by 02man

Advantages: easy to use,good features
Disadvantages: image unstable at high magnification

...This is a DVD based camcorder and belongs to the new breed of technology which is innovating at the speed of a jet. It is very light weight approximately 480 grams.The LCD screen is 2.5 inches. I have had this gadget for 5 months and am quite satisfied with it. The main advantage of this camcorder is the ease with which one can operate it..Buttons are very few and their functions are definite. It has an extremely long lasting battery life and also the charging time for the battery is less. The quality of the speakers are good and clarity of voice is a great feature. It can also record still pictures of good quality. It has got an optical zoom of 30 but the down side is that the images are not stable at such a high magnification.... Read review

Fantastic video camera - can't fault it!

Disadvantages: DV's are more hassle (and more expensive) than Hard Drives
