We waited quite a while before buying a new one mainly so the prices would come down so allowing us to buy a decently outfitted video cam. We have had this a few months now and are very pleased with it. We have just returned from a few days away (yes... we really did manage to pick a very weathery few days too) and took this away with us.

...This is a DVD based camcorder and belongs to the new breed of technology which is innovating at the speed of a jet.
It is very light weight approximately 480 grams.The LCD screen is 2.5 inches.
I have had this gadget for 5 months and am quite satisfied with it.
The main advantage of this camcorder is the ease with which one can operate it..Buttons are very few and their functions are definite.
It has an extremely long lasting battery life and also the charging time for the battery is less.
The quality of the speakers are good and clarity of voice is a great feature.
It can also record still pictures of good quality.
It has got an optical zoom of 30 but the down side is that the images are not stable at such a high magnification....

Advantages: Small, light, easy to use, brilliant quality Disadvantages: DV's are more hassle (and more expensive) than Hard Drives
...for money that this Video Camera represents (as compared to many other leading models) in superlative, and yet again I am highly impressed with the quality that Panasonic continue to bring to their fantastic product range....
