Panasonic Family size Microwave

I bought the microwave as a gift for my mum, she needed one, and had previously had a large Panasonic microwave which she had for over 5 years, and worked gread the whole time.

So I bought her a brand new one, same size as the old one. The microwave worked well for about a week, before we started to notice a burning smell coming from the unit.

One week later, it did not work at all. I took it to the service centre to get it repaired, and after inspecting if over 3 days, and charging $30 for this, I was told that the problem was caused by a cockaroach that went into the unit, and burnt the transformer in the unit, and would not be covered by the warrenty. I was told it would cost about $190 to repair - if not more. (I bought if for $340).

After complaining and alot of running around, they would not fix it under warrenty.

I finally, threw the thing out, as it was not worth repairing, and have not looked back since. I have since boycotted all products from Panasonic for their appauling treatment.

The unit lasted a record 1 month.
