After getting rather bored with my old Samsung A300 I decided it was time for something new which waste to expensive, so after a bit of shopping I bought one of these icle beasties.
The phone itself is small and thin. It is metallic silver and depending on the network the phone is on you can get different coloured covers on the front. It is nice to look at and is very light, it’s the kind of phone you can carry in your pocket and forget that you have it with you. The buttons on the keypad are well spread out so its easy for people with chunky thumbs(like me) to text on.
The phone has a little joystick which scrolls around the menus. I personally find this no problem however I do know some people who have problems with joysticks on there phones as they find the menus hard to negotiate with it.
Changeable covers are not available for this phone however there is a photo insert back which means that back of the phone is clear and you can put any picture you want in it, be it your wife, your girlfriend or anything else which is nice to look at…..
The phone has many functions the main functions being WAP, Calendar and Games. The wap is just like the wap on any phone accept this phone has basic colour wap! The calendar is really good and you can place 100 different events on it which you can alarm with a ring tone of your choice. The phone comes from the factory with two games on it and it is possible to download games onto it network dependent.
The great thing about this phone is you can personalise it to suit yourself. You can choose from a whole range of background colours on the phones menus and you can also have colour backgrounds on your phone, the problem with the colour backgrounds is that if you want to check the time you have to press a button to take the screensaver away and you have to wait three second for the time to appear and when your impatient(like me) you cant be bothered to wait that long so you just have a clock as the main background! I can think of situations when you wouldn’t want to have your phone out for more then a second in fear of it getting nicked so its quite annoying!
The phone has a whole host of built in polyphonic ring tones and it is possible to get a whole load more if the internet HOWEVER!!!! On this phone you can record your own ring tones!!!!!!! There are two 10 second slots for recording your own ring tones which is great fun and you can be sure that your ring tone is unique!
Texting on this phone is nice due to the large screen and small text(size of text can be edited) you can edit the position of the text and do all sorts of other fancy things and because the phone is EMS enabled you can put some pictures in the txt.
The phones other features include Voice Memo, Calculator and currency converter. Which need no explanation really.
The phone has a good reception(better than my Samsung which cost more then twice as much) and it is pretty robust.
The battery life on the phone is really good. My one is set so it switches itself off at 1 in the morning and back on at 5 and providing I don’t play with it will stay on standby for 4 maybe 5 days however when I play games and text etc it is reduced and I have to recharge every other day or so.
Considering I only payed £69.99 for it I really cannot fault this phone(apart from the clock thing ages to appear). It was a very nice purchase I made myself and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a new, cheap phone which is packed full of functions!
