My boyfriend bought me the GD87 a few months back and i have to say its the best phone i've had. Not only does it take pictures and look good, it does lots of things other phones don't. When i first got the phone i didn't have a clue how to use it, it was really difficult to get to grips with. You really need to read the manual to know how to use it, however the manual isn't exactly helpful so you will have to figure some things out for yourself. It's simple to add names and numbers and to write text messages. The phone book has some funky features. If you save numbers to the phone you can add a picture of the person so that when they call you their face appears on the screen. You can also record phone calls that you make. I don't why you'd need this function but it's still a good feature to have. The camera is easy to use aswell. It's just a case of "aim and fire". You can save the pictures and edit them. You can put frames round them, change brightness, use them as your background, and add allsorts of effects to them. You can also send your pictures via MMS and e-mail. Creating an MMS was impossible for me at the start. It seemed very complicated to do but as i've said before, you get used to it the more you do it. You can surf the net on the GD87, and it also has infar-red. I am disappointed in the ring tones though. You have a selection of beeps and tones already installed on the phone but they aren't all that impressive. You can download them from the panasonic website, but they cost about £1.50. There's only one game on this phone and unfortunately you can't donwload any because the phone doesn't support Java. The game is called "Herding Sheep". It's very funny. You're a sheep dog and you have to herd the sheep into the pen. You bark at them to get them to move in the right direction. The funniest thing about the game is that if you bark too much at the rams then they turn red, chase you and bite you! It costs £400 sim free, or aboout £150 on contract. You can only get it on O2 or Vodafone though. The GD87 is a very good phone. It does lots of things, some of which i haven't figured out how to do, but it's impresssive either way. It's a sexy silver flip phone with amazingly impressive features. The Panasonic GD87 is very impressive and i definately recommend it. You may have difficulty with it to begin with but once you get going you won't be able to part with it.
